📸 Closing Pride Month with the story of Alfred, a @mothers2mothers Family Mentor in South Africa 🌈 “How do we combat hate crimes at a community level when my peers are not accepted by their own families? And how do we address bigger health issues that affect society when we do not make services available and accessible to the people who need them?” Alfred—a proud LGBTQI+ activist who is part of @mothers2mothers_ !!re!!_039; Project AMPLIFY— is making a difference through his dedication to creating health and acceptance of gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men in South Africa. See #LinkInBio ☝️ to read more about his story and work.

Big news! Our Q1 2024 results once again demonstrated our ability to achieve the @UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets.. In the first quarter of the year, among our client cohort... ✅ 98% of pregnant women or new mothers living with HIV knew their status. ✅ 99% of those who knew their status were on antiretroviral (ARV) treatment. ✅ 95% of pregnant women or new mothers on treatment were virally suppressed. Here's to pushing forward and continuing to bring health and hope to communities across sub-Saharan Africa 🙌

There is less than one month to go until the 25th International AIDS Conference (#AIDS2024 )—the world’s largest conference on HIV/AIDS—that takes place from 22nd to 26th of July in Munich, Germany and virtually. @mothers2mothers has a busy week planned—we are convening a satellite session: “Radical Honestly and Bold Solutions Needed to End AIDS,” hosting an art exhibit at the Global Village: "Representation Reimagined, Challenging Preconceived Ideas about HIV," welcoming attendees to our booth in the exhibition hall, and speaking at several other events and satellite sessions. See #LinkInBio for all of the details and where to find us. We hope to see you there!

Today is #Juneteenth in the U.S., also known as Freedom Day—the day when the last remaining enslaved people were freed, a full two and a half years after slavery was legally abolished. At @mothers2mothers , racial justice is an issue close to our hearts, as equity is at the centre of our work. Each day we see how inequity fuels poor health—hitting vulnerable African women and children the hardest, and leaving African communities behind in the Global Goal of achieving good health and well-being for all. Join us today, and every day, to ensure that everyone, everywhere can access the vital health care they need.
