A commitment from an 11 year old girl… The Mrs. World organization asked us to share our “WHY”… even though my why has never changed, the journey becomes even more meaningful and powerfully beautiful. I had to take a moment and re-soak it all in. In 2005 I started rewriting my story by making a greater commitment to the 11 year old me who made a promise to make the world better. 17 years later… we are here and I couldn’t be more grateful. I do cry when I watch this story. But they are tears of gratitude and hope as I imagine the faces of the millions of women and girls who will start rewriting their future as they see themselves in my story. The power of believing in our dreams and trusting that we are never defined by our circumstances is what allows for to make a greater contribution in this world. Life is about the friends we meet along the way and they join us in appreciating the journey. Pageantry has given me the opportunity to build some of the most meaningful friendships and connections. This incredible human being has been a great friend since we first met in an elevator in Kingsport Tennessee years ago. Ted, Mellisa, Brendan and Carson hosted me in their beautiful home last weekend and it felt like home.
