If you've managed to get a spot in the ballot for the London Marathon 2025... congratulations! Choose to run for Nordoff and Robbins and you'll be part of the mission to bring the power of music to more vulnerable people across the UK. Joe, who ran for us this year, adds: "I’ve been really moved by the work Nordoff and Robbins does, and the transformative effect it has on their clients. The event itself is incredible, and really gives you a completely new experience of London. All the people you see along the route, it’s quite special. If it’s something you’re thinking about doing, I can’t recommend it enough, and I can’t think of a better charity to run for than Nordoff and Robbins!" To join the team, get in touch at fundraising@nordoff-robbins.org.uk.

We loved having the ground-breaking @jacobcollier stop by our London Centre to meet with our music therapists, music therapist students and colleagues! He discussed all things music, learnt more about our work and lead us in a circle song 🎶 Jacob will be receiving the very well deserved @oakviewgroup Innovation in Music Award at next week's O2 Silver Clefs 💙

What makes our approach to music therapy so special? Our music making is entirely collaborative. Clients and therapists work together in musical companionship. This means that each person’s therapy is meaningful to them and as impactful as possible 💚

Zainab began having music therapy with Andy after she experienced a brain injury and lost her sight. Zainab doesn't speak much English but she and Andy are able to have a conversation through music, where Zainab can be playful and lift any distress she might feel. In this clip, she uses the Sudanese-Arabic word "cobra" which means happy. Andy says: "Music is a great leveller, and though Zainab and I share very little language together, we can collaborate through singing and playing together."

There's something special about a guitar solo. They can be the most satisfying and hair-raising part of a song. So we want to know: what do you think is the best guitar solo of all time?

Today is World Music Day, a chance to celebrate the joy and power of music. We asked Jan, Nicky and Michelle from our Community Choir to tell us about a song that's been meaningful to them in their lives. We hope you enjoy their stories, and have a wonderful day filled with music!

Today is World Refugee Day, shining a light on the rights and dreams of refugees so they can not only survive but thrive. Music therapy can help refugees in coping with stress and trauma, and support them while they adjust to their new home. Salah attended music therapy with Anna at the International Care Network in Bournemouth. At first he lacked confidence, but over time he began to participate more, playing the piano with Anna and improvising on the guitar. Salah learned new musical words in English, and his confidence and personality shone through. "I like Anna and I like coming to music to play guitar and piano," Salah said. Learn more about Salah on our website via the link in bio.

No matter whether your loved one can communicate through words, or what style of music they're into, engaging in music with them can strengthen your relationship and be a positive outlet.
