HELP OIPA GIVE A NEW LIFE TO SIX CATS LEFT ALONE IN DUBAI Dear supporters, this is a 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 for 6 innocent souls who have lost everything. OIPA International has been contacted for an emergency 🆘 in Dubai, where 6 cats had been left alone in one apartment after their owner suddenly passed away. The man had no familiars or friends able to take over these poor animals on site and to look after them. We therefore had to act fast to transfer the cats from the apartment preventing the landlord from dumping them in the middle of a street. A race against time. However, thanks to the intervention of good-hearted volunteers, we finally moved the animals. We have decided to hospitalize them to a vet clinic to check their health conditions and to renew their vaccinations. They are all healthy, but they look lost and terribly sad after their lives have changed so much in such a short time! 😿🫵We are now asking everyone’s help to raise funds to cover the costs of their boarding in Dubai and their relocation abroad, where we will try to find their forever homes. We have left with no solution, no help, and we beg everyone to donate even 10 euro towards this case 👉 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝗶𝗼 /help-six-cats-left-alone-in-dubai #cats #catlovers #catsofinstagram #donate #rescuemission #rescuedcats #saveanimals #animallovers

⚠️Warning Content ⚠️ Although the Republic of Azerbaijan joined the European Convention for the Protection of Pets in 2007, according to which the government was supposed to adopt possible measures to reduce the number of homeless animals (through neutering) without causing them suffering, pain, or discomfort, stray dog killings in the capital Baku and other regions have never stopped for all these years. The mass killings are directly ordered and performed by government’s executive authority, but often government’s cruel behaviour towards homeless animals shapes the same attitude among citizens, who feel free to get around shooting and poisoning innocent dogs at night, in broad daylight and many times even if front of children. No dog is safe in Azerbaijan!! Every day, dozens continue to be exterminated despite being neutered/spayed, notched on ear homeless dogs or roaming owned pets. OIPA International has been exposing these slaughters for years, becoming the voice of local volunteers and animal activists who have never been heard. 📣This time, we ask for your help to call on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat to reconsider their decision to host the next 2024 UN Climate Change Conference, commonly known as #COP29 , from 11 to 22 November 2024 in Baku. A country that does not respect and protect its animals and its humans, it cannot be a country able to respect the climate, the environment and a positive example of a global #OneHealth approach. 📌Take action! ☑️Repost and tag @unclimatechange ☑️Write a protest email to secretariat@unfccc.int - press@unfccc.int ☑️Tag authorities, international media and influencers #animalcruelty #doglovers #straydogs #dogoftheday #repost #dog #animalnews #dogsofworld #awareness

Thanks to our supporters who participated to the fundraising campaign in aid of stray animals in the region of Kurdistan – Iraq, we sent a first donation of 500 euros (we know that it is not much!) to our member association KOARP Kurdistan Organization for Animal Rights Protection. The entire amount was used by Dr. Sulaiman Tameer, vet and founder of the organization, to buy medicines, vaccines, wound disinfectant, vitamins, de –worming and equipment like gloves and syringes useful for the daily activity of KOARP aimed at rescuing seriously ill or on the verge of death animals in Duhok Province between January and February 2024. In addition, a part of our donation was used to purchase 100 kg of dry food for dogs and cats. KOARP was finally able to treat 37 stray dogs, 19 street cats, 11 different birds and 1 wild animal most of them hospitalized for prophylactic treatment, vaccination, wound treatment, de-worming, weakness, mange, diarrhea, eye infection, fracture and external parasites while 35 stray animals were fed. Our goal is to cooperate with KOARP on long-term projects, including spaying/neutering programs for stray animals, educational activities, vaccinations and medical care for domestic and wild animals. All this was possible only through your support, because every donation can be a lifeline for animals in Kurdistan. LAILA WAS DUMPED BECAUSE SICK: OIPA VOLUNTEERS RESCUED THE DOG DURING A SEIZURE EPISODE. LET'S SUPPORT HER RECOVERY During the rescue of Laila, a young female dog abandoned near Termoli, Italy, OIPA volunteers were shocked when seeing she suffered a severe epileptic seizure. The episode seriously frightened our volunteers and is suspected to be the reason Laila was mercilessly dumped. Laila, who was visibly confused and disoriented, was taken to the vet after being rescued. The veterinary examination revealed a concerning clinical picture. Laila was suffering from malnutrition, parasite infection, swollen lymph nodes, an enlarged spleen, and tested positive for ehrlichiosis, rickettsiosis, and leishmaniasis. These pathologies had clearly developed over a prolonged period of neglect. The dog, approximately 3 years old, unspayed and not microchipped, had likely given birth to multiple litters based on her visibly enlarged mammary glands. However, for how long she had been wandering in that condition remained unknown. Laila, a docile dog in need of attention and affection, is currently under the care of our volunteers, who are meeting all her needs. However, to secure a brighter future for Laila, they are relying on your support. #sweetdog #dogoftheday #helpdog #doglovers #help #dogs #cutedog #weekend

We're excited to let you know that we started a campaign to help make a difference for stray cats this summer! Today, we want to share a wonderful example of positive behaviour where tourists have helped made a real difference in how animals are treated in tourist places showing them respect and consideration. Sometimes, residents reconsider their attitudes and actions towards animals in front of positive examples. We're thrilled to introduce Gordana as the inaugural ambassador of our campaign! She's a kind volunteer who lovingly feeds and cares for a colony of cats living near Hotel Lone in Rovinj, Croatia. Thanks to her ongoing efforts to educate others, tourists have truly come to love this animal-friendly destination, sharing their positive reviews with the staff and supporting Gordana in caring for these lovable feline friends. 💁‍♀️🐱Learn more about our exciting campaign "Make the difference, change the trend" by clicking the link in our bio, and don't forget to download our flyer and share it during your next vacation! #summer #animalfriendly #holiday #catlovers #catsgram #friendlycats #straycats #animallover #petfriendly

THIS SUMMER MAKE THE DIFFERENCE, CHANGE THE TREND This summer ☀️ we want you as a tourist to make the difference for stray animals, let’s start with cats 🐈🐈‍⬛! You have probably noticed the high rate of felines roaming and begging for help and food in many tourist locations. Cat population proliferates due to the lack of sterilisation activities and abandonment. Felines end up in a state of serious neglect and they are often chased away badly with the excuse to disturbing visitors. Tourism has become more ethical and you as a tourist can change the trend for stray animals. How? Follow our advices... 1️⃣ Gather information about how stray animals are cared for in different places before deciding where to go on vacation. 2️⃣ If you encounter neglected animals in front of hotels, cafes, or restaurants, kindly express your concern to the management. Let them know that you are passionate about animal welfare and it makes you uncomfortable to see them in such a condition. 3️⃣ Show your appreciation to facilities, hotels, or cafes that take good care of animals, giving them attention and care. Explain that seeing animals well-treated your vacation will be more relaxing and enjoyable. 4️⃣ Share your experiences with other tourists by writing positive or negative online reviews and post positive examples of animal-friendly locations on social media. Check and download the flyer of our campaign👉 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗼 or contact us at 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙@𝑜𝑖𝑝𝑎.𝑜𝑟𝑔 #ethicaltourism #travelethically #summerholiday #straycats #catlovers #animalrights #socialmedia #share #summer #review

RESCUED BY OIPA VOLUNTEERS IN ITALY, TWO SMALL KITTENS DESPERATELY NEED CARE. LET'S NOT LEAVE THEM ALONE Frequently during their inspections, OIPA animal control officers encounter situations of severe neglect that not only affect dogs, but also cats. This was the case of two kittens reported being abandoned in a garden. Both kittens were affected by rhinotracheitis and their eyes were seriously compromised. After being rescued and taken to a vet clinic, the little ones received first aid treatment. Regrettably, Sila has permanently lost his sight, whereas Gua, the other male, has still the potential to partially recover his vision enabling him to perceive at least certain shadows. The two kittens are currently being looked after in a foster home, where they are receiving specialized treatments, being fed high-quality kitten food, and given supplements to aid in their recovery. Medicines and veterinary checks have a considerable cost, and as soon as the little ones get better, they will require vaccinations, deworming and parasite treatments. 🩵Let's help volunteers guarantee Sila and Gua everything they need to get well! 👉 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝗶𝗼 #kitten #catlovers #catsgram #kittensofinstagram #adoptdontshop #cutekitten

THE SLAUGHTER OF DOGS AND CATS IN CHINA BEGINS TODAY. OIPA WILL BE TAKING PART IN A PROTEST AT THE CHINESE EMBASSY IN ROME The Yulin Festival in China has started! The horrific annual event where over 10,000 dogs and cats are brutally slaughtered for their meat. Imprisoned in inadequate cages and deprived of basic necessities like water and food, the animals were subjected to cruel treatment including beatings, slaughter, and in some instances, being skinned and boiled alive. In an effort to support animals and denounce cruelty, volunteers from OIPA will gather outside the Chinese Embassy in Rome to protest. 🗣️ 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗿𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗰! #Yulin #dogmeat #YulinFestival #DogLover #catlover #animallover #dogs

🚨UPDATE! See comments below A disturbing case of animal cruelty occurred in Nando Khan village, Sanghar district in Sindh, Pakistan, few days ago. Reportedly, a local landlord ordered the brutal mutilation of a camel's front leg as punishment for the animal entering his agricultural fields and damaging some crops. The footage showing the camel screaming in terror due to the severe pain caused by the injury was heartbreaking. We wrote to the Sindh Chief Minister Mr. Murad Ali Shah requesting to take the episode seriously and ensure justice for the camel. An exemplary punishment and public condemnation to the perpetrators could deter such atrocities from happening again in the future. We demanded to use his influence to call on the Pakistani government to strengthen the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act of 1890 and we suggested encouraging the culprits to contribute financially to the medical treatment of the camel, as an act of compassion towards those in need. Tag @sindhcmhouse and @govofpakistan and ask for justice! #AnimalCruelty #StopAnimalCruelty #AnimalsareSentients #animallovers #camel #camellovers #Justice

NASTRINO, A STRAY CAT RESCUED WITH A SEVERE NECK WOUND. HE REQUIRES MEDICAL ATTENTION TO HEAL Acting promptly when stray cats 😿 are sick or injured can save their lives, especially when they've been experienced major trauma like Nastrino (little ribbon 🎀), a stray cat looked after by OIPA Italy's volunteers. We're not sure what Nastrino went through, but judging by the deep neck wound and the bleeding, he must have gotten himself stuck somewhere and tried to break free. Without the quick intervention of our volunteers, his chances of survival would have been slim. Nastrino was fortunate to receive prompt assistance and urgent stitching at the municipal vet clinic. While it may take some time for him to fully recover, his gradual improvement can be attributed to the unwavering dedication of volunteers who provide medical treatment and feed him daily with specific food. 🐱Every donation can be of a great help for Nastrino! 👉 click the link in our bio, and select '𝑯𝒆𝒍𝒑 𝑵𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒐 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒚' #cat #catsgram #catoftheday #beautifulcat #saveastray #helpstraycats #catlovers #rescuedcat #betterlife #catlife

DEPRIVED OF FOOD AND MEDICAL CARE, ENGLISH SETTER SEIZED BY OIPA ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICERS IN ITALY Left for at least 6 months inside a sheet metal kennel in a state of abandonment, an English setter was found without food, a proper bedding, and forced to lie down on the floor in direct contact with his faeces and urine. Underweight, with prominent bones, dull coat and signs of prolonged confinement and poor mobility, the dog was infested with fleas, agitated and eager to go out, he stood on two legs seeking physical contact, showing symptoms of prolonged isolation over time. The dog did not have health records and was microchipped to someone else. OIPA animal control officers in Italy seized the dog and the owner charged with animal cruelty, neglect and abandonment. 🩵 Continue to support the work of our volunteers across Italy against animal cruelty and abuse 👉 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗼 #StopAnimalAbuse #AnimalCruelty #Doglovers #dogoftheday #pets #dog #AnimalLove #oipainternational #dogsarefamily

Today is #BanLiveExports International Awareness Day. Every year, millions of farmed animals 🐄🐖🐑🐓🐇around the world are forced to endure hellish journeys for days and even weeks, only to be slaughtered on arrival or be fattened, often in inhumane conditions. They are shipped across oceans 🚢 or crammed into overcrowded trucks🚛, often standing in filthy, and cramped spaces, facing unimaginable suffering, overheating to freezing cold, pain, dehydration, exhaustion, injuries, stress and gasp for air. Like👍 and share 🔄 to raise awareness. Join us calling on the EU to #BanLiveExports !
