(2/2) AMAZING!! 💙
Growing up, I never really looked forward to birthdays or holidays (shoutout Black Sheep Holiday). They just never had great memories.
But my heart is full to know that last night will be imprinted in my mind as one of the best birthday celebrations ever!!
When I first moved to town two years ago I didn’t know anyone, and I’m so proud and happy of the community I’ve built.
The one piece that really stuck out to me last night was how kind, generous, and loving this community has been. Thank you so much for taking time to come celebrate, getting up on stage and for some stellar friendships. You truly fill my cup every day.
And thank you so much @chi_ville_chick & @theneonrow for hosting my birthday round takeover!!
It was a blast!!
June 4th is right around the corner but I know this next trip around the sun is gonna be a good one 🫶🏻
(1/2) 🥹😭🫶🏻 THANK YOU!!
A few months ago I had this crazy little idea to put together a birthday round take over. I thought it would be really fun to invite all of the people I get to make magic with, to come jam out listening to our original music. I was nervous, is it weird to do a bday round if you’re not an artist?! And what if no one shows up? What if people do show up!
And Nashville, y’all showed up! Thank you to every single person who came to support me. It felt surreal looking out into a packed room of the friendly faces I’ve met over the last two years in town.
And to the incredible artists who I am luckily enough to be friends with, you are all amazing! I loved getting to hear your stories behind our songs and you all killed it! Every single one of you.
Thank you for saying yes!! Yes to connecting, yes to writing, yes to playing last night but most importantly, thanks for saying yes to friendship 🩵💙
…. Cont.
this one cuts deep 🔪♥️
If the past 40ish days have taught me anything, it’s that sometimes the most unpredictable crap can be thrown your way and you have no other choice but to deal with it.
No “maybe later”… the mounds of tasks that have been dropped on my plate are not the ones I was able to push off to tomorrow.
And thank God I didn’t have the luxury to wallow in the grief and the sadness. Thank God I had to keep moving because I think I’m moving on a lot better than I probably would have otherwise.
Shitty stuff is going to happen, and sometimes life is not always going to look the way we thought it would. There’s no pretty way to say that, it’s just a fact.
Thank God for songwriting, friends, community, and AllRecipes.
Shoutout to @paigeruderman_ for helping me knock this one outta the park 🧢
