🌴 On days like these when it becomes really hot Maria Theresa of Austria preferred to stay in her apartment on the ground floor of Schönbrunn Palace where it was pleasantly cool.
✨ The rooms are named after Johann Wenzel Bergl who painted the exotic landscapes on the walls. How do you like these rooms. Let me know in the comments.

🛌 The King’s bedroom, Neues Palais Potsdam
✨ The bed in the alcove is actually not the original one. It was moved here from another room in the palace. As for the King, he preferred to sleep in a simple, military-like bed.

✨ Rococo in Portuguese
🏛️ This is the National Palace of Queluz, a summer residence of the Portuguese kings. One of the first rooms you enter is also one of the largest: the ballroom, which was later also used as a throne room and is still used today for official ceremonies.

✨ The bedroom of Pierre-Élisabeth de Fontanieu at Hôtel de la Marine Paris aka Garde-Meubles in Paris. This room was later part of Marie Antoinette’s apartment set up for her escapes from Versailles to Paris.
✨ Swinging rococo in an underestimated castle in Thuringia: Schloss Heidecksburg in Rudolstadt
🍸 The ballroom comes with a true surprise: a Baroque bar where refreshments were served to guests during festivities taking place in this magnificent hall. There are two of them, one of each side of the entrance.
📚 Here are three different libraries of Frederick the Great. Which one do you like best? Let me know in the comments.
1️⃣ 2️⃣ Schloss Charlottenburg, Berlin
3️⃣ 4️⃣ Schloss Sanssouci, Potsdam

✨ Here are a few less frequently shown views of the king’s apartment in the New Palace in Potsdam. These are the dining room, which was only accessible to guests from the terrace, and the antechamber to the inner sanctum of the flat, the library, which no one but the king was allowed to enter.
🤔 In the last picture you can see a church in Potsdam above the door. Can you guess which one it is? Write it in the comments.
⚠️ If you want to visit this gem in the New Palace Potsdam, you’ll have to hurry, as the King’s apartment will be closed for some time in November due to construction work.
