Good morning! Happy Saturday y’all! Up early to enjoy the cool air and quiet in my happy place. I’m struck with a lesson about listening this week. We are often so attached to our need to be right about something that we do not listen to the person we are having a conversation with. Hearing and listening are 2 different actions in my opinion. You don’t have to agree with the person or people you are having an exchange with but you do need to listen to where they are coming from and how they are feeling. When you don’t you invalidate them as a person. It is the same thing when you don’t think something is as important as the other person thinks it is. It is easy to make someone feel less than without even trying. Words are important folks….use them wisely! Really take the time to listen and process what someone is saying to you.
