Bittersweet from @lvkemiddleton out now! This one was a lot of fun to work on. Great performance with a lot of cool layers including the longest scream of all time. Lots of space to play with effects which was awesome. The verse reverb is a big plate and a big chamber hard panned left/right and cross feeding each other with a 1/4 delay hahaha. Excited to work on more songs with Luke soon!

Finally got my 1964 Ampeg Jet up and running again. I suddenly lost output on it a while ago and finally got around to trying to figure it out. Noticed the rectifier tube wasn’t glowing and luckily I had another 5Y3 sitting around that I had pulled out of an organ. Popped it in and we’re good to go! Scored this beauty at a garage sale about 15 years ago for $5 😂
This is a 5th Avenue, made with vodka, lemon, homemade strawberry syrup, and muddled basil. This is one of me and Teresa’s favorites and comes from Lou and Mickey’s restaurant in the Gas Lamp in San Diego on 5th Ave right across from the convention center. We’ve only eaten there once, but their bar was a frequent stop on our Gas Lamp outings. Delightful.

Speaker swap successful. I’m actually pleasantly surprised how nice this sounds and how well it complements the other speakers in this cab now. I took a speaker out of this Bugera 2x12 I got for a Strat at a garage sale recently and put it in the bottom left of my 1970s Ampeg 4x12. I love the little splash of red.
This speaker (Bugera 12G280J8) has a really nice well defined low end and is kinda scooped overall. It really complements the more mid-forward Celestion V30 (top right) and brighter Mesa Black Shadow (top left). Blending the three I can really dial in the speakers to match the amp/guitar sound to get what I’m looking for. I think this fills a gap in the lows and low mids I was feeling from the other speakers.
The rig is now 3 speakers with 2 mics each (one 57 and one ribbon/ribbon model) so there are tons of options easily selectable and blendable from the control room to fit each part perfectly into the mix while reamping.

Another beautiful day in paradise. I moved my A7Xs off the tops of my A8Hs onto stands (which has been on the todo list for a while) and that reduced some speaker boundary interference around 500-600hz and greatly improved imaging on both pairs. Sounding real nice in the new room now.
