The Embassy’s team, led by Consul Barbie Rosales, provided essential consular services, including the processing of 129 passport applications, registration of 133 overseas absentee voters, and the oath-taking ceremony of 52 Filipino citizens.

[LOOK] PHILIPPINES RETAIN HIGHEST RATING FOR ANTI-TRAFFICKING EFFORTS IN 2024 US TRAFFICKING REPORT
The Philippines retained its Tier 1 status in the 2024 Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report recently released by the US State Department. Tier 1 ranking is the highest rating given to countries that satisfy the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking in persons under the US Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000. The Philippines has been on Tier 1 status since 2016.

[ADVISORY] UPDATE ON CONSULAR SERVICE FEES EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2024
Starting 01 July 2024, the Philippine Embassy and Consulates General in the United States will charge a $10 expedite service fee for all consular services—except passports—provided during consular outreach missions.
In addition, a $10 expedite service fee will apply to consular documents released on the same or next day at the Philippine Embassy/Consulate General.

[LOOK] INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING (IDADAIT)
The Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C. joins the annual observance of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT).
Embracing the theme, "The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention," the campaign promotes drug policies grounded in science and research, with a strong emphasis on respecting human rights. It calls for a deep understanding of the social, economic, and health implications of drug use and advocates for an imperative, evidence-based approach to strengthen prevention and treatment efforts.

[LOOK] MWO-OWWA DC CELEBRATES MIGRANT WORKERS DAY IN CAYMAN ISLANDS
The Migrant Workers Office and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (MWO-OWWA) of the Philippine Embassy in Washington, DC, celebrated the Filipino Migrant Workers Day on June 9, 2024 at the Lion’s Community Center in Grand Cayman, Islands. Organized by the Philippine Independence Day Committee (PIDC) in Cayman Islands, the annual celebration in honor of the Filipino Migrant Workers was the first ever to be undertaken in the Caribbean.
