A beloved Philadelphia tradition is back today, it’s Wawa Hoagie Day! Known as one of the biggest events of Wawa’s Welcome America Festival, the annual celebration salutes the military, veterans, and other local heroes in the community. So we sent PHL17’s Alyssa Cristelli to the National Constitution Center to learn how to make a Wawa shortie.

A Heat Health Emergency went into effect at 8:00 a.m. today and is set to end at midnight on Saturday, June 22, 2024, though it could be extended if the forecast worsens over the weekend.

-People with chronic medical conditions
-Pregnant women
-Small children
-Those who work in high-heat environments
-Those who take certain medications that disrupt the regulation of body temperature
