SCOTUS granted presidents sweeping immunity from criminal prosecution for exercising core constitutional powers, but not for actions taken outside their official role as president. The court sent Trump’s prosecution back to the lower courts to be reconsidered in light of ruling.
The court ruled women in Idaho can continue to receive abortions in a medical emergency. But it’s a delay, not a win. The court labeled the case “improvidently granted,” and didn’t rule on the substance. Legal wrangling will continue in lower courts.
