Originally, the Lighthouse album was going to be called Hummingbird, and was meant to be a continuation of Indigo Purple, sonically speaking. After the transition back to a one man band, I found myself sinking into somethin’ deeper and lonelier.
I locked myself in my room for days on end. I just felt so many different things, and I needed to get it out on paper. The song, ‘The Lighthouse’ came together in 20 minutes, and I fell in love with it. The rest of the songs fell out in a similar way. See, I think music can be about immortalizing a moment. Maybe it’s not some major life story, maybe it’s a singular moment that you feel strongly enough about to relive - over and over again.
It was a very good friend of mine, Titus Schelling who told me that maybe Hummingbird wasn’t the right atmosphere for the record. He told me I was ‘The Lighthouse’.
Lighthouse, my solo album, is out everywhere now. Tap in.
PS
Happy Fathers Day folks! I am inspired by so many great musicians every day, though my father is and always has been my biggest inspiration. PrairieSmoke simply would not exist without him. So, cheers to the backbone of my journey, and the best damn roadie around - @matt.stefanich

$10 each, first come first serve! Message me or come grab one at the Duck on Monday if they aren’t gone.
These are likely some of the first posters we ever made, I’m guessing about 2 years old, and they lived in the Gerald live room that whole time.
Cheers!
We just couldn’t get enough of you, Denver…

Blue Country Mystic from @surfside_7 last night. Cooper and I hadn’t ever played this one together, though it has become one of my favorite songs of all time. Each rendition that I hear tends to sway towards a unique genre or emotion that is both difficult to attain and deeply inclusive all at once. I’m excited to give it many more tries, and thank you to @hissgoldenmessenger for creating a masterpiece.
