my new album Holy Waters is out in the ether today
this album is me letting go.
I need to say I couldn’t have made this record without Harvey, Ellis, Cameron, Luke B, Wizard Dave, Sam, Sarlo, Luke S, Teej, and Liv.
(also a huge thanks to Chris, Blue Flowers, everyone at Heavy Duty & PIAS)
I’ve never had more love for my music before, this thing was such a pleasure to live in and play in.
This was the first time I’ve involved the band in the creative process off-stage & it opened a portal to a completely new world for me.
I am so enamoured with what the boys contributed, I can almost listen to this album like a fan (!) which is something I have never felt before. I feel myself geeking out inside over little moments, recorded between the cold swims & hour long jams.
The first half of the album is about acceptance of the pain of life, and the second half is about acceptance of death.
It is dedicated to Rowena, Brian, Ali, Pablo, David, Hannah & Bijou.
a poem to everyone we’ve lost these last three years.
the sun setting, but never forgetting
to all the pain, and all the play.

HOLY WATERS
my second album
out September 1st
it’s my favourite thing I’ve ever done
it’s an album mostly about death, with some songs of love too.
this time it was all about collaborating with the band on every song, something we’ve never done before.
i took it away from the bedroom laptop sound and got into the studio with my best friends, and then took what we made back to my laptop and produced it.
it’s a more experimental album, a more analog album, there are short 3 minute songs and 6 minute jams, reversed drum solos, synths that we tried to make sound like film score strings, and I’m singing on this record with my whole heart and gut.
‘Pretty’ & ‘Hounds’ are out now
i can’t wait to share the rest with you.
