At this year’s #Pride in London we’re delighted to have supported @tonichousing for the second year running. Tonic is the UK’s first LGBTQ+-affirmative retirement housing community. Last year was the first time some of the Tonic community were to experience the fullness of the Pride celebrations, and we'll be back with the Tonic team at UK Black Pride on11th August again this year. Our @shinepwc network was out in force and was joined by our incoming Senior Partner Marco Amitrano and the network’s new Partner Sponsor Alastair Woods. 🌈Happy Pride all!

This week marks Refugee Week, a UK-wide celebration around the contributions, creativity, and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary. This year’s theme is ‘Our home’, which focuses on the concept of community - a home being more than just a place. To mark the occasion, we organised a Refugee awareness panel event where our Chief People Officer, Ian Elliot was joined by our colleagues Moe Babai and Hamed Amiri to discuss their personal stories and experiences. #RefugeeWeek

Today is Social Mobility Day, and this year's theme is #SharingMomentsThatMatter . ⭐ We know we are at our best as a business when we bring together diverse experiences and perspectives to solve problems. That's why, to mark today, our Social Mobility network organised a range of events and activities across our UK offices to bring together colleagues and guests to discuss their experiences. We're conscious there's more we can do and we are committed to understanding the steps and actions we can take to ensure we're building a more inclusive and equitable workplace for everyone. #SocialMobilityDay

Social mobility is important to us, and it’s not just about how we operate as a business but how we support the local communities around us. 🌍 That’s why we run our New World. New Skills community programme, where we work with school students from lower socio-economic backgrounds and other disadvantaged groups to: ⭐ provide them with the skills and information so that they can fulfil their potential and pursue positive employment outcomes, whether that’s at PwC or elsewhere; ⭐ remove barriers to access, linking our outreach programme to our recruitment opportunities; ⭐ share our people's expertise through volunteering opportunities. Watch this video to learn more about the programme from our volunteers and partner schools #SocialMobility https://pwc.to/3VoVNHZ

As a firm, community engagement is part of the fabric of who we are. It dates back to the 1800s when the original founders of Price Waterhouse supported the formation of Ham Yard Soup Kitchen and Hospice in response to the poor social conditions of London in the 19th-century. Today, our community programmes focus on sharing our skills and resources with social enterprises and charities across the UK. As we celebrate our 175th anniversary as a firm, we’d like to invite you to join us as we reflect on our journey and how our work with schools, charities and local community partners has evolved over the years. #PwC175

Pride month is here, and we're celebrating our colleagues across the UK who are coming together to take part in events that champion diversity, equality and freedom. The first rally was in Birmingham and the Shine network was there in full force.🏳️‍🌈 These celebrations are an important opportunity for the LGBTQ+ community and allies to come together to celebrate each other as we continue to work together towards a more equal future for us all.

It's been our biggest year YET for one of the best days in our calendar - One Firm One Day! From training social enterprises, to supporting school leaver programmes and working at charity shops, we've had 270 teams and thousands of our people volunteering across the UK. One Firm One Day has been running for 15 years and is a firmwide event which encourages teams to take time out to volunteer or fundraise in their local communities. Well done to everyone who took part🥰 #Volunteer #Charity #SocialEnterprise #teampwc

Coming up later this month: our biggest and longest-running community event - One Firm One Day! For the past 15 years, OFOD has been one to remember for our people - as we’re encouraged to join together and take part in giving something back to our local communities. Whilst the focus of the day changes each year, it aligns to the community engagement strategy, and has in the past focused on social enterprise, social mobility, mental health and wellbeing. With a focus on skills-based volunteering, some of our opportunities include: 🏫 Running or taking part in a social mobility skills session 🤝 Coaching social enterprise leaders 👗 Volunteering in a partner charity shop 🍃 Supporting our environmental partners 💛 And fundraising via our PwC Foundation to directly support the beneficiaries of @crisis_uk and @hospice_uk . Take a look back at some of the activities over the years - you might spot someone you know.

How do you communicate? Hearing loss is a non-visible disability affecting around 1 in 5 adults in the UK. This week is Deaf Awareness Week, an opportunity to reflect on our communication styles and preferences, especially when it comes to our colleagues who are deaf. 🗣 In this video, Chloe and Mark, members of our Disability Awareness Network, share their personal experiences and explain why it's essential to have these conversations in order to remove stigma, bias, and any misunderstandings around hearing loss. #DeafAwarenessWeek #EverydayInclusion
