This is what doing the inner work looks like for me. I talk a lot about health and root cause on my page, but this is the type of work that really matters and I feel called to speak more on. Health is more than just the mere absence of disease. But it is our ability to live a heart-open life. When we live heart open, energy flows in. We see people and everything around us as beautiful. We experience joy. This is the truth of who we really are. Our pains, traumas, and fear all blocks us from living heart open, which is why doing the inner work is so powerful. It’s hard but it is so worth it because at the core our number one purpose is love. Healing is a return back to love. A return back to self. This work is hard and cannot just be summed up into six-steps but I hope this is able to help someone.

NEW BOOK IS OFFICIALLY AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE ON AMAZON 🎉 📖Root Cause: A Complete Guide to Functional Nutrition for Coaches I had zero intention of writing a book last year, only launching the RSN Functional Nutrition certification and Functional Medicine and Lab Testing Interpretation certification. But by the time l was with 8 months and 300 pages in I realized… holy sh*t this is a whole book here on functional nutrition. As I thought about it more and more and how valuable it would be for other coaches to have a guidebook on how to apply the functional medicine framework with their clients… the book grew 200 more pages. This book not only shares how to apply to apply the ‘root cause framework’ when it comes to chronic health issues along with tactical protocols, but it also teaches how to apply this framework with creating true and lasting change with your clients. Its dives into how to understand what truly drives people and how their values will dictate the type of coaching that is needed to be not just a good coach but a great coach. This book is a compass 🧭 for anyone who wants to take a root cause approach with themselves, their clients, and learn how to be an effective coach and create change in other people’s lives. My hope is this book ads so much value to not only your life but also the lives you influence 🙏 Grab your copy on Amazon - link in bio ❤️Rachel

The real flex is when you can turn your pain into your massive mission and purpose, who agrees? 👇 ⁣ When my gut issues were at its peak one doctor even wanted to remove my entire large intestine..I thank God for that low moment because I wouldn’t be doing the work that I do now with functional medicine and having created this mission without going through everything that I did. ⁣ ⁣ God truly has plans for you to proper and I know Sometimes it’s hard to see that in the pain and hardship but I hope my story gives you hope and “the knowing” that it’s for a reason. I believe that this “knowing” is Gods nudge for you where He says, “hey I have bigger plans for you but I need you to go through this so I can do my work in you so I can work through you.” ⁣ I created @RachelScheerNutrition to give people The approach I felt like I never had with all my Health issues through functional medicine lab testing and 1-1 coaching. But “It had to happen to me so it could happen for them” ❤️ ⁣ Coaching link in bio. ________⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 💉FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE NUTRITION⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 🍎 I Help People Optimize Their Body and Address the Root Of Their Health Issues Follow @rachelscheernutrition and @rachelscheer ✨DM me “ROOT CAUSE” to learn more

Optimal > Normal. While conventional ranges focus on broad health markers, functional ranges aim for optimal wellness. But here’s a hot take: many functional medicine practitioners don’t consider hormone levels in terms of achieving the best body composition. This is why they excel in overall wellness but might miss the mark on aesthetics. What has made @rachelscheernutrition so different is we try to bridge the gap between functional medicine (root cause approach) and fitness/aesthetics. Our goal is first and foremost to get to the root cause, heal, and then optimize aesthetics. ‼️ I am going to be offering a free training next month on optimal hormone ranges for body composition. If you want to join, comment “YES” below and I’ll send you over info on where you can register. #Health #Wellness #FunctionalMedicine #BodyComposition #OptimalHealth #RachelScheerNutrition #RootCause #holistichealth #Bodybuilding

These can call be signs of a deregulated nervous system and/or adrenal fatigue. —OVER-RELIANCE ON CAFFEINE AND STIMULANTS —BRAIN FOG —ANXIETY —NOT FEELING “SAFE” IN YOUR BODY —HEADACHES —HAVING TO OVERLY SELF-SOOTHE —BLOOD SUGAR IMBALANCES —FEELING WIRED AND TIRED The nervous system is the body’s electrical circuit. It surveys the environment for potential dangers, determining if you feel safe or not. When the nervous system is unregulated, it operates in a sympathetic state (fight/flight mode). Cortisol and inflammation increase, while the gut shuts down, stopping the production of digestive enzymes. Hormones and thyroid levels slow down. This is why healing the nervous system is crucial to heal the whole body. At @rachelscheernutrition we take a test don’t guess approach by identifying the root causes of imbalances and then create a custom treatment plan to help heal the body. What’s the difference between poor gut health and good gut health? Poor gut health = GI inflammation: Calprotectin is the best marker for this in a stool test. Bacteria dysbiosis (an overgrowth of inflammatory bacteria, gas producing bacteria, or low levels of good bacteria like probiotics) Low levels of short chain fatty acids (these are very protective for the gut) Intestinal permeability (the root cause of most immune issues, skin issues, and chronic inflammation) Good gut health = High bacteria diversity and balanced ratios of good/bad bacteria Low/no inflammation Adequate short chain fatty acid production A strong gut lining and no signs of leaky gut! Our goal at @rachelscheernutrition is to address the root cause(s) and create a customized plan and protocol to heal your gut and optimize your biology.

Out of all the roads she’s traveled, the journey back to self has been the most magnificent. Sometimes we have to walk through darkness to see the light inside that’s been there all along.
