Gary Numan // O2 Academy Bournemouth Mr electric himself, Mr Gary Numan (@garynuman ) headlined a sold out o2 academy in Bournemouth last night to great fanfare! Playing 2 of his earliest albums in their entirety, Gary and his band did not miss a beat! So much energy, so much entertainment and so many lights! Certainly one of the stage setups I'll remember for time to come! Go watch this man on tour if you can! Marisa and the Moths // album release tour (part 1) Its fair to say that last Thursday, Friday and Saturday were some of the funnest days and nights I've had doing photography! I felt very honoured to be taken out with Marisa and the Moths (@marisaandthemoths ) for the first 3 dates of their album release tour! I got to shoot in 2 brand new venues to me (@sub89reading and @theglobecardiff ) and I returned to The Loft (@theloftsouthampton ) as well, and all 3 shows were amazing! Spectacular crowds at each show, some old faces and new ones alike, and it felt so good basically having creative freedom to run around and do what I love! My thanks go out to the band themselves (Marisa, Alez, Liam and Alex) and the bands crew who have given me so many laughs this weekend that I almost lost my voice! Met up with my old friends in Depravity (@depravityuk ) last night at the first date of their mini tour at The Hobbit (@thehobbitpubsouthampton )! I've always loved catching these guys live as they are a lovely bunch and carry a crazy amount of energy onto the stage with them! Here's bassist Connor defying gravity during their set! Royal Blood // O2 Academy Bournemouth // Hive Magazine Last week saw me returning to the O2 Academy in Bournemouth (@o2academybmouth ) , and saw me photographing Royal Blood (@royalblooduk ) for the second time! Celebrating the 10th birthday of their debut album, the alternative rock duo came onto the stage to a sea of cheers and chants from the near sold out crowd! The audience were treated to a play-through of the bands debut, featuring all of the songs that made the band the force they are today! Halocene // Engine Rooms, Southampton From second stage of Download Festival, to the Engine Rooms, Southampton stage, American rockers Halocene (@halocene ) acted as a fantastic opener for Atreyu last Saturday night! A great set with some energetic originals, a sprinkling of covers (including a very atmospheric cover of 'The Kill' by 30 STM), Halocene certainly knew what they were doing on that stage! Atreyu // Engine Rooms, Southampton Saturday night, saw me avoiding the muddy grounds of Download, and instead saw me back at Engine Rooms (@engineroomssouthampton ) shooting the metal legends in Atreyu (@atreyuofficial )! A truly nostalgia filled set from the American 5 piece, featuring a setlist covering all of the bands nine albums, that appealed to all the sold out crowd in attendance. Singalongs were had, crowd surfers kept the security busy, and there was even a pregnancy announcement! A fantastic night, and my continued thanks to Hive Magazine (@hive.insta ) for letting me shoot the show! Eclipse Machine // The Hobbit Pub, Southampton Always enjoy taking photos of the guys in Eclipse Machine (@theeclipsemachine ) whenever I get the chance! The show is a technical masterpiece featuring 5 of the lovely band members you could meet, that all know how to play songs in time signatures that would make Animals as Leaders seem tame! Bitchin Hour // The Hobbit Pub Went back to my home turf last Friday night, and decided to shoot my friends in Bitchin Hour (@bitchinhourofficial ) once again! HCK9 // Reading & Cardiff Opening up proceedings on the recent Marisa and the Moths dates, were London post hardcore band HCK9 (@hck9.corp )! A high energy and entertaining 4 piece who certainly got the crowd going in both Reading and Cardiff! Great support band and a great bunch to chill and chat to afterwards! Keane // Bournemouth BIC 20 years ago, I was entering into my final year of primary school. I was 10 years old and a band from East Sussex had just released a debut record, that would eventually end up becoming nine times platinum. Fast forward to 2024, and I got the chance to photograph Keane (@keaneofficial ) in Bournemouth as part of their UK tour celebrating the 20th birthday of their album 'Hopes and Fears'. A fantastic show, with a setlist spanning across all five of their albums including the entirety of 'Hopes and Fears'! Kite Thief // supporting Marisa and the Moths Now that I'm back from tour and recovered enough, let's start sharing some shots! Kite Thief (@kitethiefuk ) were main support in both Reading and Cardiff, and I honestly love these guys! Their music is so full on that I couldn't help but headbang away whilst taking photos! Couple that with them being absolute legends both on and off the stage, and put it simply, I can't wait to work with them again!
