I rewatched the film "Fire In The Sky" yesterday. It's such a great film! Fire In The Sky is a thought-provoking disturbing sci-fi mystery filled with ominous tension.
The fantastic script by Tracy Tormé( based off the book by Travis Walton) instantly grips you with its compelling character-driven premise as you see a whole town turn on a group of loggers after one of their crew gets abducted by a UFO. The dynamic between the characters are tense and strained as you see their lives fall apart. The film has such a creepy atmosphere and goes to some weird places. Yet it always remains a grounded heartfelt film on family, surviving, and innocence. I think it also shows the impact that media attention has on people. The film has an outstanding ensemble cast, including Robert Patrick, D.B. Sweeney, Craig Sheffer, Peter Berg, Henry Thomas, Bradley Gregg, James Garner, Noble Willingham, Kathleen Wilhoite, Georgia Emelin, and Scott MacDonald.
The cinematography is very well done by Bill Pope and is accompanied by a very cool score by Mark Isham. The film has some fantastic effects and some terrific art direction, set decoration, costume design, and production design. It's also expertly edited by Steve Mirkovich. Robert Lieberman did a great job directing this insane unsettling drama based on supposed true events that I highly recommend.
