POSITIVE BIRTH STORY - sharing the short and sweet version with you now. I will be making a fun YouTube videos with all the details very soon!
12:00pm Saturday June 17th. - We checked in to Cedars. My OB and I decided it was best for me to get induced since I was so miserable with my full body PUPPPs rash. I was full term for a twin pregnancy, so there was no need to keep me in agony any longer.
I wanted to try more “natural” options for induction… like a membrane sweep. But since we were in the hospital they let me know that if I wanted to be checked in to be induced that they’d want to do pitocin.
(I had a very intense experience with pitocin during my first birth, so I was nervous)
3pm - Cervical Check - I was two centimeters dilated - 50% effaced. We finally started Pitocin to get things moving.
7pm - 3.5 centimeters dilated. We realized labor was moving very slow so we started pumping up the pitocin a bit more.
11pm - I broke out in hives (on top of the rash 🫠🙄) so they gave me Benadryl through my IV. I passed out and sleep almost completely through the night.
7am - Woke up for the nurses shift change. We had no idea how dilated I was.
9am - Cervical check. I was 5 centimeters dilated. We needed to get this labor moving along so we made a game plan with my OB. I decided to get an epidural. Then they would break my water and hopefully things would move a lot faster.
10:30am - Water was broken
12pm - 7cm dilated
12:45 - 10cm dilated and ready to go into the OR for delivery! They have twin births in the OR just in case an emergency C-section is needed.
We were wheeled in and the energy in the room was great! Everyone was so positive and full of excitement. They asked us what music we wanted on.
