Night # 2 at Whitwater with Courtny Patton and backing up Steve Earle was one for the books! Having so much fun playing these songs with one of our heroes to crowds that get how cool it makes for some great shows. Don’t sleep on the next two y’all- Denver and Challis on deck!
(Bonus points for anyone that knows the SE song referenced in the set list art).
We are sad to hear of the passing of the great Kinky Friedman. When Kinky was running for governor of the state of TX we were honored to recorded one of his songs with Asleep at the Wheel for a tribute record that was made to help promote his campaign. The record had some incredible artists on it and was a blast to be a part of! Kinky was a one of a kind human being and was aways entertaining. His talent and humor will be missed by many. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and many friends. - Cody Braun

Americana music has lost a true friend. Jeremy Tepper was a champion of our band and countless other artists that didn’t quite fit the mold of mainstream airwaves. Jeremy gave us a home and a voice on Sirius/XM’s Outlaw Country channel and promoted this often overlooked underground music scene whenever he had a chance. We’ll all miss him down here, but the jukebox in heaven is gonna be rockin’ tonight! RIP, amigo, we’ll see ya when we get there. - WB
