![||| 10.08.2022 ||| Gia’s 1st Bday: The Baptism ——————————————————Being a part of a child’s life is such a special, divine gift. Being asked/trusted to be a part of a child’s life that is not yours, to me at least since I don’t have kids, is exciting & terrifying! Now, add your brother/best friend asking you to do that but as his baby girl Gia’s godfather or “Ninong” to the mix, & multiply those feelings by 10 & you arrive at the level of joy/shock that hit me that day! I already love his girls, regardless of any special role other than “Uncle Sean-Sean”, but THIS!? “What in the WORLD would make this fool & Tina think of ME being worthy or anywhere NEAR good enough!? What if Gia never accepts me!? What can I give her!? What if I let my brother down?” instantly started running in my head. Couldn’t even figure out if the tears I was fighting HARD to stop were from feeling so loved/honored by them, or from being absolutely terrified of COMPLETELY failing them & Gia [shoutout to the soju for the help keeping my gansta on, at least in their faces, cuz WHEEEW ]! But out of all the crazy thoughts & feelings, my love for him & his fam was more powerful than any fear, so I took a breath, asked God to HELP ME be NOTHING but a blessing for them, to be the best support system I could, to help show G His love, & said yes. And everyday since for the past 8 months, it has been the JOY OF MY LIFE being “Ninong”. This lil girl has me wrapped around her whole heart, & I wouldn’t change it for the world!Standing with my brother Geoff, Tina & their fam/friends for Gia’s baptism was one of most meaningful moments of my life. I’ve been waiting to even post this while I try to find the words to express how much this gift means, but yet again, it’s impossible. Why God continues to bless me like this is beyond me, but I am eternally grateful, & I will thank Him by loving Gia & the Ibe family daily, unconditionally, into eternity.
