Branson family plank challenge, anyone? 💪🏼
Popped by the newly refurbished Virgin Active Wimbledon club after watching the tennis (I don’t normally go to the gym in a suit!) and we couldn’t resist a little family competition.

A funny story – I recently had the joy of joining Jake Humphreys on the High Performance Podcast. Before we started recording, I complimented Josh Lincoln (the podcast’s CEO) on his shirt. When we started recording, he ran to the shops and bought me the same one! He may have been feeling a bit sorry for me because I was in the same clothes as the day before, but I was very happy nevertheless. Thanks Josh!
What to do when invited to see your wife’s favourite artist but she’s 4000 miles away? Call her as soon as he starts singing! Thanks for a wonderful performance, Andrea Bocelli - and Joan’s joining next time, promise.
I went to have dinner with the @VirginVoyages team recently, and ended up staying on the ship all week! I genuinely love being on-board, which is such a simple but important reminder for all entrepreneurs. You've really got to love your product. While I was on-board, I played a lot of chess with the other sailors, and they really put me through my paces! I find that chess is such a great way to get to know people much more quickly than you otherwise could…
If you’re hosting a party, you’ve got to be the first person in the pool fully clothed. A big thank you to everyone for quickly joining me and kicking off @VirginAtlantic_ !!re!!_039;s 40th birthday party in style!
June 22, 1984. Gatwick to Newark. 4:15pm. On-time departure (of course!). One second hand 747. A new airline called @VirginAtlantic .🛫
So much fun continuing the celebrations for @VirginAtlantic ’s 40th birthday with a giant room full of the people who have kept our planes in the skies for the past four decades. It is all because of you. Your kindness to our passengers (and each other), your spirit and your smiles, your hard work and - yes - your professionalism is what has kept us going through the difficult times when many other airlines didn’t make it.
The party was the perfect celebration of our people, plus I got to do something I’ve wanted to try since we started Virgin Records! 🎸🏄♂️
When starting @virginatlantic 40 years ago, I went against everyone’s advice. Friends, experts, the press, the pundits – and on paper, they were right.
The result was our ruby red airline, that shook up aviation. From 1984 to 2024, it’s our people who make me the proudest. They are much more than just a workforce; they are what makes Virgin Atlantic special. They’re the red thread that keeps us all together and I know they will continue to look after our customers for the next 40 years and beyond. Keeping the same belief now that I had in 1984 - if you can create something that’s much better than what everybody else is offering, then you have a chance of succeeding.
