👉In the past, I have been asked about diving, and I have always said, ‘yeaaa just do it!’ Recently, a friend brought to my attention shallow water black out, and I’m not sure if it has just got in my head now or it actually almost happened. About a month ago I was diving at one of my usual spots only when on the way up I felt my eyes get a little heavy and my body felt weird, then the sun hit my face and I came up fine. 🙏👇👇
Shallow water blackout - A loss of consciousness caused by cerebral hypoxia towards the end of a breath-hold dive in shallow water. It is typically caused by hyperventilating just before a dive, which lowers the carbon dioxide (CO2) level and delays the diver’s urge to breathe.
