Today, I visited the Brooklyn Public Library to see the Jay-Z exhibit, “Book of HOV” with two friends on this beautiful afternoon in Brooklyn. The library on the outside is covered in Jay’s lyrics and quotes about Jay. I’ve been a huge fan of Jay’s from the beginning of his career and before my love for Beyoncé! Today, attended the City of Austin’s proclamation celebration honoring the work and legacy of our brother, Lewis Conway, Jr., (posthumously) giving Lewis the key to the City of Austin and designating April 4, 2023 as Lewis Conway, Jr. Day. The work of Lewis will endure continue to help men and women who have been incarcerated to have access to equity in employment and housing and access to the basics in life so many of us take for granted.
