That’s a wrap to our @nuvodanceconvention 2023/2024 season!!! Endless thanks to my Co-Director, soul Sister @krisgorski327 . I’m so proud of us. We learned A LOT in this first year doing this together. Thank you to all of the dance studios in all 31 cities we visited. The talent was mind blowing & your support means more than I can express in words. So much gratitude to our incredible faculty for your encouragement, patience & brilliant artistry. Watching you all teach throughout this season has been beyond inspiring & we are so lucky to have you as educators. To our amazing National Director & Convention Manager’s @kaattyyy @_jaylinalexis & @kasey.douglas I am so proud of you & can’t wait to grow even more together next year. Big thanks also to our guest judges, assistants, Best Dancers, everyone at registration, the best crew ever, photo/video & merch team. I had the absolute pleasure of witnessing @twylatharp_ opening night @thejoycetheater last evening. I sat next to her during the performance and when that curtain came in she was already up and heading backstage for her very well deserved standing ovation bow. I felt the exact same feelings I had the first time I saw her work live in a theater. The artistry, intelligence, athleticism, musicality, transitions, I could literally go on and on and on…… I am so grateful to this brilliant artist who has given me so much over the years and who keeps pushing boundaries, creating new and innovative work. Wrapping up a beautiful weekend @nuvodanceconvention Toronto, our last one of 2023. The love & respect I have for this team is beyond words. Not everyone is pictured here. There are many individuals in various departments that work so hard to make these weekends special. It takes a village. We are a big, passionate, loving, crazy (in the most amazing way) family. I celebrated 46 years on this earth yesterday and I’d like to share some of what I know to be true so far….. I know that our thoughts are our biggest obstacle and the ultimate reason why we do so much harm to ourselves and others. I know that family (not necessarily blood related) is everything. I know that being fully present and practicing it is life changing. I know that I don’t know A LOT. I know that peace comes from within, not outside of ourselves. I know that we are our worst enemies. I know we are capable of absolutely anything. I know that the key to manifesting what you want in life is clarity and the only way to get that is to silence the mind and feel infinite space, which is one of my many definitions of God. I know that a self care practice is the biggest healer. I know that we don’t trust our intuition enough because there’s too much turbulence in our internal space to hear it and feel it. There’s still plenty to learn and thank goodness for that. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to live another year and in light of it being Thanksgiving week, truly thankful for all of you whether I know you well or not. Kim Craven & I have worked together on & off since 2003. We’ve lived together, spent many holidays together with our families & now we can say we’ve casted & Co-Choreographed together. No surprise to say it was wonderful. Her work ethic, organization skills, intelligence, talent & passion are unmatched and all while making me laugh so hard my stomach often hurt 😂. I’m so proud of these dancers we worked with. It was a VERY short rehearsal process. They were kind, highly professional and game to try anything always. Big thanks to @circustheaterroncalli for adding dancers to their show for the first time in 25 YEARS! Have a wonderful run everyone 🥂❤️ @bigapplecircus

I still can’t believe this is happening. It’s been a wild two months of transition, embracing change, learning lots of new things and recognizing once again the power of manifestation. I am still very much into meditation and this year one of the dominant aspects of clarity has been wanting to make a difference. Every spiritual teacher talks about this. What’s your dharma, your purpose? It’s not enough anymore to just dance, although I still LOVE to dance. Having the opportunity to be a Co-Director with @krisgorski327 (one of my nearest & dearest) of @nuvodanceconvention is not something I take lightly at all. It’s an enormous responsibility taking on something that one of the best & most loved in the biz @therayleeper created & I feel it’s perfectly aligned with my dharma. Thank you, Ray! Kristen, you’re the perfect person to be doing this with in every way and my respect & love for you has quadrupled. Thank you to the ridiculously talented and kind faculty for supporting us.
