Ran my virtual Bloomsday race today. Wanted to go modernly hard and do negative splits, but the first mile was a little faster than planned, so I had to work pretty hard to get those splits.

The Greater St Louis Marathon weekend. I ran the Half Marathon again this year and got a 4min 16sec HM PR! It looked like the weather was not going to be great coming into it but ended up ok. 66 at the start, but at least it was humid! LOL. It got a bit toasty, and the beer at the end was fantastic! Fun morning on a new course!
Another interesting bus ride, but we stayed on the correct side of the road this time! Wrong turn, missed exit so it was a bit longer than needed...oh well...made it safely.
So, due to weather coming that includes lightening, Run Disney decided to shorten the half marathon to 7.2 miles and start 15 min earlier. I got to the race 90 min early, so I did the first 6.2 miles in the parking lot before the race then ran the race so I could still log all the miles for Dopey this weekend (48.6 total).
Weather is looking good for the Marathon tomorrow!

Disney Marathon weekend day 2 10K day!
We had an adventure this morning. The bus driver got lost on the way from Pop Century to Epcot! I was in the 0310 bus, the driver took a wrong turn and we ended up at Hollywood studiosbefore turning around in the parking lot and then going down the WRONG SIDE of the street (grass partition between the sides) for about 2 miles until he could find a turn point. Scary seeing cars coming at you flashing brights! After we got turned around he almost missed the turn again but at least 6-8 people yelled LEFT and we made it. 30min ride for what should take less than 10.
Still there plenty early and had a great run. Negative splits and finished harder than I planned but it felt good.
Forecast for tomorrow is rain turning to thunderstorms. We'll see...
Had a spectacular weekend to kick off December! We went to Memphis for the StJude Marathon and ended up with almost perfect weather for running. 43 to start 53 at the finish with clouds and Betty little wind. A lot of people and a fantastic atmosphere for my first time running this event. Thanks to my coach, ultra running extraordinare, and high school running buddy, Sean Meisner for plan, help, and advise over the last 16 weeks! We still have another month until the Disney Marathon weekend!
I feel very grateful to be able to get out and run, to race, to push myself.

Boston qualifying time with a 5min 50 sec buffer. 🏃♂️😃

1:37;36 second half for an almost 4min negative split and a 1sec personal best half marathon ... and it was on the second half of the race... what! Heeellll yah! Lol.
5th place in age group (50-55) 98th overall.
Celebrated by touring Graceland in the afternoon.

Started with my long run
combined w/BRC Saturday group run. plan was 19, I misjudged a bit and got some bonus distance. 3mi w/u, 4mi @ MP low end, 1mi float, 3mi @ MP upper end, 1mi float, 2mi at brisk HMP, 1mi float, 1 mile hard, 4mi c/d.
After some mobility & stretching we got cleaned up and headed to Kimmswick for the Apple Butter festival and had a fantastic last lunch at LaChance Winery..so good!
A relaxing evening and getting that birthday cake made. 😃
Had a great weekend adventure with the Road Warriors doing the Bourbon Chase Ragnar road race in Kentucky! 200 miles, 12 people doing 3 legs each. Hilly, beautiful countryside location, great new friends, supportive running community, a little sleep (very little), and quite the party at the finish line! Good times! Fantastic morning at the Belleville Marathon & Half Marathon. Started by playing the National Anthem and then handing my horn to my support crew ( @pattis.2012 ❤️) and hopping on the start line to run the Half. Finished in a PR time of 1:37:37. 18 overall, 2nd in age group. Almost 4min negative split. Full sun and a bit warm but a beautiful morning. Rest, rehydrate, and a late night Salsa gig at Club Vivo in StL tonight. Great job to all the runners, volunteers and staff!
