THE HEART OF A WOMAN
To be a mother to a daughter is to bear witness to the becoming of a woman. To hold her hand as she grows, from your little girl to a young woman, you watch in awe as she comes into her own. Choosing to live a life beside your mother fosters a relationship unlike any other. The bond between mother and daughter can hardly be described as anything other than the deepest understanding of one another, in the unspoken, the smallest moments of everyday.
Shining a light on our dearest Susu, in honour of her birthday today, we want to acknowledge her as a mother to three beautiful daughters, and a daughter herself to the magnificent Carol(Gugs). Susu embraces every sentiment that is the mother-daughter relationship, both in her special connection to her mother and her daughters.
Susu is an integral part of our Russel and Rose community, and it is with much joy and pride that we have created special custom pieces for Susu over the years. We wish her a meaningful birthday, filled with an abundance of blessings.

I AM ENOUGH
“I wear my necklace as an amulet. To offer protection to those closest to me. And to myself. For this was also a gift to myself. One that I hesitated over. Because there were many more practical, pressing needs and this piece of jewelery was pure indulgence. And did I really deserve it? my critical self asked.
But it was the time of a big birthday and big changes and I wanted something to commemorate that. Also it sparkled. And I live for a sparkle.
The J and the S, symbolize my husband and my son, the evil eye reminds me to keep fear at bay and the heart tells me that in the end love is all that matters. And so when I play, sometimes nervously, sometimes contentedly, with the chain around my neck and hear the tinkling of the charms and medallions, they serve as an encouraging voice to the faltering whisper of my inner self which reminds me that I am enough. That I am worth all this. That I am worthy of the love.”
