CGI has its place. Just not in Hellraiser. We originally asked Dan Rebert to join us for the whole movie, but being the busy man that he is, he could only spare us time to build one gag. I said well then it has to be the regeneration sequence, the callback to Frank from the OG. Here, @allbeautysleeps paints the 3-stage torso gag that seamlessly edits together as a fully practical effect, with vfx only used to comp into the actor. This was always planned to be a CG sequence, but we were having none of that.
Insert "sights to show you" joke, but seriously can't wait to share all the hard work from the talent we had in the shop on the most exciting project we've ever done. The Pinhead makeup sculpted by @jaremy_aiello , played by @msjamieclayton is just a glimpse of what's in store.
Fun fact: When I'm working on top secret projects, I go by the disguise moniker of Josh Ruffell, the animal wrangler. That's because I'm wrangling the animal Jack Dagger, Knife Throwing Consultant. Who is also me.
Look what I just picked up from the dime store kids! Around 14-15 yrs ago, I recreated the packaging seen in the first Scream to bag up with my costume replicas.
