Some key takeaways from a South African perspective on European insights: 1. Simplify – complexity doesn't always mean progress. 2. Be proactive, not reactive. Envision an optimistic future and ensure each project considers what the typology and context will look like in 50 years. 3. If energy is costly, using less should save money. If not, we need to reassess if our efforts are genuinely energy-efficient or just misleading. 4. People are becoming increasingly disconnected from the production processes around them.
