I went back and forth so many times about making an acapella dance for this group, and then once I decided and started on it, I wanted to scratch it so many times. I had so much self doubt that I wasn’t a good enough musician or choreographer to be doing this, and just couldn’t get it to sound right. It started as a very rough draft, and I lost count of how many edits I ended up making, but these girls never showed a shred of doubt in me, and never once complained after I changed something for the 100th time. We all had to have a lot of patience in me, in each other, and a good amount of help from Matt, and we ended up making something we loved and are proud of. Not many people know how difficult it is to dance acapella as a group, and they worked incredibly hard to get better and better throughout the season. Their performance in finals at nationals was hands down their best and earned them a national title, but this video from earlier in the season has the best sound quality so I’m sharing this one!

WHAT A WEEK IN NASHVILLE🤠
These kids left it all out there and gave some unforgettable performances to close out this season! So incredibly proud of the way my tap dancers represented this week- of their growth, and most of all their love and commitment to tap dance and to their team. Getting to see them earn the confetti for senior small group was the cherry on top! 🏆

Just now getting the chance to sit down and reflect on what had to have been the most best, most special @littlerocktapfestival yet.
A lot of work goes in to making this event the best it can be, but this one seemed to have had an extra amount of blessing over it. Having the tap festival we built from the ground up take place in the room we said our vows to each other was special in itself. Then add to that the amazing family that has been built through the past 9 events…indescribable.
There was a very noticeable absence of one member of that family this year. Billy has been at all but one tap fest since the beginning, staying a step ahead of me and jumping into any role and job and we’ve ever needed. I never thought we would (or even could) put on a festival without him there, but seeing how much love, thought, and honor was brought to him and his family this week made it feel like he was there. We can’t thank everyone enough for donating, and we encourage you to wear your sunglasses proudly and #livelikebilly . 🕶️

It’s been a strange few months being off my feet post-hip surgery, and I’m still working my way back to normal, but I couldn’t be more ready and excited to be back at it this summer!
