I’d like to take a moment to celebrate the life of my dad who passed away in the early hours of the 8th of October at the ripe old age of 94.
He lived through a world war (actually spending it in boarding school as his family had military duties). Raised three children, two daughters and one son. Provided for his family in ways he was never afforded. Acted as a great role model as a kind and generous man and remained active and healthy right up until his final weeks.
Great innings dad, I promise to uphold your tradition of leaving the next generation in a better position than the last and hope I can be half as generous and kind of a human being as yourself. RIP.
Happy 9th anniversary to @tania.goble “The Matriarch”, the champion, wife, mother and boxer of the family. Thanks for adding another year to the streak of best years of my life and I very much look forward to the BIG year we have coming. You’re the love of my life and go above and beyond for our family. I adore you and your mini me’s more than anything, but in ten years time when your hormones all sink up I’ll be sleeping at Doherty’s one week out of each month.
Happiest of birthdays to my beautiful wife for this past Saturday. Some may think this belated post is a bit lax but I like to think of it as spreading the joy between the actual day itself and when her present gets delivered somewhere around Wednesday. Why have a great day when you can have a great week, that there is top notch husbanding. You never cease to amaze me, just the other day I marvelled at your world class engineering as you had stacked the kitchen bin 20cm above the perimeter without spillage as you awaited my return from work so I could take it outside. Or when you shake your head in bemusement and wonder out loud where your daughters get their emotional volatility. You undoubtably rock my world and that of your children, by looking after us, supporting us and loving us way more than we deserve based off our actions. Thank you for all you do and I swear the birthday present is coming!
