Hi guys, hope your all having a great summer so far. It's so hot here in the UK at the moment. Summer as definitely arrived. 🌞 I sketched this piece of a common blue butterfly 🦋 back in May whilst I was on holiday from work. First time ever sketching outside. It felt so good to sketch in nature and it's something I've wanted to do for ages. So pleased I finally got the courage to do it. Finally finished the last layers today. Hi guys, hope your all doing well. I've not posted any art for a while. As I've been working on creating this piece entitled ' Scruffy the Robin'. Back in January @raspberrythief asked everyone in a post what bird was the first one they saw on new year's day. The first one I saw was a robin in our garden being windy swept by a gale. This inspired me to create this piece. It as taken me well over 30 hours to complete and I have used numerous layers of mixed media to create it. I hope it makes you all smile, as it as given me so much joy to create. 🎨 Thankyou to all my followers who have stuck around and followed my art journey so far and for all the insta artists who have become great friends ( you know who you are) you inspire me everyday to push past the negativity I sometimes feel in my art, the art block and the imposter syndrome all us artists get. Hi guys, oops mistakes happen as an artist. Here's what happens when you are taking part in an art challenge you enjoy doing every year and you accidently spell the moth wrong. I was looking for a reference of a 'Clymene moth' for @suefield66 &@tinykatecreates #marchmothmadness24 and I put an a at the end instead of an e. It turns out spelling it that way makes it a butterfly. When I saw everyone else's post I thought 😱 Truth be told it kind of disheartened me for the rest of the challenge. But once i pushed past the regret. I decided to wait till after the challenge had ended to post this. As it's still sketchbook work I enjoyed creating and all art good or bad makes you grow as an artist.
