Wow, I am living proof of the goodness of God. I did not know God would ever favor me this way but he is faithful. Hello everyone, I am Carrie Everett the 86th Miss North Carolina! Grateful, joyful and humble to be representing North Carolina for the next year. When I think about where I was to where I am now I am without words, this program is truly life changing and I can only hope to change the lives of others the way it has changed mine. Truly this is the Miss America Opportunity, this means so much to my family, my community, my people, and to me.
This title is history in the making and I cannot wait to create even more. It is my mission to bring in young women from all backgrounds to this organization and I will work hard throughout this reign to increase participation. Someone saw something in me and found me, future Miss North Carolina’s and even Miss America’s are out there and we will find them!
I have so many people to thank and I will continue to do so as I post for the rest of this week and year. I could not have done this without you all and God placed you all in my life for a reason. North Carolina, I am ready for you.

This year held many trials and tribulations. I experienced success and failure, closed and opened doors. Many days of stress, anxiety and tears. But God. Through it all, he has been on his throne and there he will remain. He never left me, never gave up on me even when I gave up on myself. Everyday I saw a new miracle, and I know there were some that I didn’t even see. God placed the right people where they needed to be, made a way out of no way and sharpened me. He opened a door that no man can shut. Now 7 days before Miss North Carolina, I share my official headshot. Now walking with a newfound confidence, authenticity and boldness in the LORD.
