This weekend was the 1st Ultimate Day of Service @missultimateusa . I kicked off the weekend by packaging up my next shipment of Sisters for Bracelets that will be sent to the Ronald McDonald House in Washington, DC, this week. 25 families will be given a little sparkle ✨ of hope and a smile when their bracelets arrive. I will post throughout the week about the other community organizations that I was involved in over this service weekend 💕. There are over 700 children entering the foster care system daily, we want to help each one of them have a real bag. “Comfort Cases are backpacks filled with comfort and personal care items for youth entering the foster care system.” Next month to honor national foster care awareness month, we will be making bookmarks 🔖 to donate to this organization. Last year there were an estimated 2 million dogs and 3.3 million cats in shelters spread throughout the country. 1 way that you can help a shelter animal relax, feel safe and appear more adoptable, is by donating blankets to your local shelter. Fun fact…. We adopted Jinx and his 3 legged hound dog friend from our animal shelter almost 6 years ago, after spending close to 200 days in the shelter. Jinx was very timid and scared of people, noises and especially kids. We made a special delivery this weekend to Children’s National Medical Center. Our platform @sisters_for_was created to spread hope and smiles to kids hospitalized, throughout the country. This volunteer project through Children’s National Medical Center, to provide ziplock bags with crayons and coloring pages, embodies the mission of our platform perfectly.
