I went to visit Lexington with @visitlex , and it truly was a culinary and cultural experience. We started off the trip with an invite to @bitesofthebluegrass , learning about the amazing contributions and history of African Americans to Lexington and the derby, as well as tasting some amazing food 🙂. Then I learned about raising and selling horses at @millridgefarm (@midnighthillfarm is from Chicago and she was an amazing tour guide). After that, I checked out @keeneland , where I learned a lot about thoroughbred and world-class racing with @keeneland (@gd_hieronymus was such an amazing host ). I also tried some amazing places to eat like @tuktuksnackshop @tuktuklex , @genesiscoffeehouse , @wingkyng859 , and @creauxlex . Additionally, I visited @freshbourbon for a bourbon tour and did a farm tour with the black-owned @colemancrestfarmtv and was able to experience @soulfeastweek . Overall, I had an amazing experience and I hope you come to enjoy Lexington and the beauty this city has to offer. I had an amazing time visiting @visitlex for @soulfeastweek , organized by @mxbarksdale and @_martibarksdale . The Black food scene and culture here are incredible! To start off @soulfeastweek , I had a fantastic farm-to-table dinner with fresh produce from the historic @colemancrestfarmtv , a family farm that has been around for generations. We learned about their amazing produce and enjoyed a delicious meal cooked by the talented @isaiahscreetch . The next day, I attended Kentucky’s premier Juneteenth celebration, SOULFEAST, which celebrates Black liberation and ingenuity through music, art, agriculture, and, of course, fantastic food. I met many amazing people and tried some incredible dishes. Don’t miss out on supporting Black-owned restaurants this week during their Black Restaurant Week in Lexington, Kentucky. Lexington is truly outstanding in the food scene—you have to visit next year to experience it all!
