Our annual Art & Dance Camp is set for the week July 15 - 19! 🎨 During this week our campers will dive into exploration of how art and movement are connected. In fall 2018, the tragic passing of @stlouisballet dancer Raffaella Stroik shook the dance world. Today, her hometown of South Bend, Indiana, continues to honor her memory. Her life has now inspired a brand-new fairy-tale ballet, @raffaella.ballet , commissioned by the Stroik family in her memory and choreographed by @ckretz92 . Our Summer Showcase is an afternoon filled with dance that our week 2 summer intensive students have learned from summer guest and current faculty. this fun, performance, incorporates, classical, ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, and hip-hop. Drum and Dance was founded locally in South Bend by Kelly Burgèt in 2012. The word “UZIMA!” was chosen from the Swahili language as a mantra for the organization, meaning a celebration of wholeness, health, and life. UZIMA! still considers this their central mission and foundation, seeking this for both members and audiences with whom they interact. Performing traditional West African dance, Afro-contemporary, song, and spoken word, UZIMA! always looks to leave their audience in a better place — filled with joy, peace, and a greater sense of the light that exists in all of us.

Our 2023/2024 season has ended here at Southold. We feel so grateful to everyone who was a part of another successful season. Thank you for your support of the arts and most importantly, the support for your dancers, whom you have brought to and from classes and rehearsals all year long. Many of our students (& their families), faculty, & staff are on the move this weekend starting today! @yagp is the world’s largest dance family & student ballet scholarship audition; some of our students have been working since late August to prepare for this awesome opportunity! We are so proud to have 24 students participating in the Regional Semi-final in Indianapolis this weekend including: 17 classical solos 13 contemporary solos 2 duets and 2 ensembles Join us in sending them well wishes for safe travels, encouragement to simply do their best, & have fun most of all!
