today I release a live cover of 'cortez the killer' performed in austin tx with 6 dear friends+collaborators in march 2024 + a video of the performance by @stereogum i decided to perform this cover as a way to feel the power of community + music amidst everything surrounding us that week in texas thank you @oldgraig , @trabharry , @smokemybones , @the_meattree , @disco9000 + @alexaloneworld for being down to do this last minute performance. being up there felt like an exorcism, a solar flare. in the words of Neil Young, it was ‘one of the pleasures of my life to be able to be on this stage with these people.’ thank you @stereogum for filming+ recording it with such care and for having me play your event w @topshelfrecords , @alex_farrar for mixing, + @eurekamastering , and to @polyvinylrecords for unwaveringly supporting me, a rare gem amidst a poisoned industry
