25 years ago, in the throes of our dissolution, The Falling Wallendas put out one last EP, Pattycake. It immediately got us interest from some larger labels and set us up for a big showcase at SXSW. Unfortunately, some twists and turns happened and PFFT, the band was dead and this little work never really got its moment in the sun. Hardly any copies were pressed and few people ever heard it. Then we and it disappeared.
About ten years ago, I get a call from Steve Albini's studio, Electrical, saying they had the master tapes for Pattycake and would I like them back. Well, I never met Steve and never recorded there, so it's kind of a mystery how it wound up sitting in his archives for 20 years. #distrokid
Anyway, AS OF JULY 1st, it is finally out and about on the streaming services and I think you should check it out. There's something about it that is really fetching and fun and it's one of my two favorite albums I ever recorded. Hope you take a listen.

We have been lamenting the loss of our good friend Steve Albini who recorded and mixed our debut album Vent - and now we are about to release our 2nd album Hurst that was also made by him.
On Thursday July 25 Hurst drops on all digital platforms via @grungepoprecords
We will be playing select shows and the first one is on Saturday July 20 in our hometown of Heraklion, Crete Greece 🇬🇷 and the next one is on Saturday Sept 14.
We will start venturing out to other cities and countries to perform and play songs off of our two Steve Albini-recorded albums and also introduce some new songs that we will record with (?) - everything is on the winds of the air right now and everything is just a glimpse of our existence. Dark arts are a band Steve recorded so don’t freak out just yet.
Stay true to your pureness and activate your thunder. Carpe diem and one love ❤️ and long live the simple rock loyalists with distorted guitars…

Ia juga seorang advokat yang vokal dalam memperjuangkan integritas artistik dan perlakuan yang adil bagi para musisi, terutama dalam menghadapi tekanan label rekaman besar. Yang akan kami selalu ingat, bahwa ia merasa, bahwa tidak seharusnya seni itu difabrikasi. Lawan.

Shellac; The Skinny, Portland, Maine; October 2003
I recently discovered these photos of Shellac that I took when they played in Portland, Maine (where I was living at the time) at this club downtown called The Skinny - I’m not sure how long it lasted. Anyway. Black Helicopter (ex-Green Magnet School) opened and Shellac were really good, as always.
R.I.P. Steve.
