Allow me to reintroduce myself ✨💃
Hi guys, it’s me Syd. I’ve been playing with hair since 2015 and love the things I’ve been able to create with my hands. I geek out on all things music, art, psychology, dancing, nature, travel, and deep & meaningful convos. You can find dancing to live music, hiking, sharing meals with friends, traveling, manifesting into some “woo woo” witchy stuff and getting lost in some crazy art project I decided to create in that moment. I’ll quite literally try everything once, because you can’t knock it til you try it right? I want to jump out of planes, I want to see the depths of the ocean, I want to know that on my death bed one day I did my damn well best to try all the wild things my little heart desired.
I have reached some of my lowest lows and some of my highest peaks(…for now 😉) and I can’t express how much gratitude I have for this little life and this journey. You only see the picture perfect version that people want to show the world. You don’t see the struggle, the heartache, the tears, the loss, the anger, the spirals, the emotional rollercoasters…I used to look at myself disgusted at what I saw in the mirror, controlled by my thoughts and comparisons, worrying about what type of person I am to others, or how they think I am. Am I doing the right thing? Does that person like me? Do my words match my actions? Am I successful? Am I enough?
I still have days like this, all the time. I’m nowhere near perfect or “healed”. I’m healing the limiting beliefs I’ve been chained to because frankly life is too damn short and time is precious. Deciding to show up and live according to how YOU want to live your life is one of the most courageous things a human can do. Some may view it as selfish, but I view it as an act of self love.
This post isn’t for you people of Instagram, it’s my reminder to show up for this beautiful empowered woman in these photos because I’ve seen the depths she’s gone to and I’m here to celebrate that and wherever else she goes. Be weird, be loud, take up space, be open, dance it out, and most importantly do it all for the person you see in the mirror, they are cheering you on more than you think.
