Stone structures in particular have such a heavy history to them. This art challenge of @daeni_draws involving #monolith . Absolutely an inspired scene. The one monolith I always think of is the one from #2001aspaceodyssey the intro scene of the monolith appearing before the early man apes always has stuck with me. The idea that the apes interaction was what influenced them to become tool users is fascinating to me. The costuming for the man apes was, for the time, very well done. The monolith was overwhelming in its unknowable and immovable silence.

For the week of “relic” in #daenidraws . This was a loose idea of a life and death style relic you may find in old civilization. Many times they focus on the female being the life giver wherein the earth figuratively sprouts from them. The other half is the destruction which brings down all things under the eye of the #moon #sun and #sky Though even from death life springs eternal. The sides of life flip exchanging with death but death can only last so long before life takes root again.

For this week of #daenidraws the prompt was #crystals , so I opted to attempt in #watercolor a #prism Prisms work by dividing the light spectrum into the main colors of the waves of light our human eyes are able to perceive. ROYGBIV, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. I was not in love with this at the start but I think it came out ok. It’s only my second ever watercolor so I’m still learning to blend, layer and try not to accidentally mix colors with to much water. I must admit I’m enjoying watercolor art a ton. I plan to do more and continue to learn.

For the weekly prompt of #lantern my first ever attempt at doing watercolors. I think it turned out well and has me excited to do more. I have always been hesitant when it comes to painting in general because of the permanence of mistakes, cost of materials and pressure of time constraints when paint dries. Watercolors though feel COMPLETELY different from acrylics. I’ve never used oil paints and that’s likely not going to change. I will definitely make more watercolors through the year for #daenidraws challenge. #watercolor #daenidraws #monsters #dark #learningsomethingnew

This weeks prompt of #daenidraws is #spelljar I’m testing a bit of basic #photography and display for this one. I thought about trying to draw these up and make them in my own style but I really liked how these photos came out. Simple yet elegant. Spell Jars are not always literal jars and sometimes are simple ingredients. Details about these particular items are thus. -moon water; Drawing the energy of the full moon, able to be drunk for cleansing, renewal and intention setting. -honey; Used in spells to sweeten a sour disposition or to make a deal better (sweetened). -sea salt; Purifying and protective, a good offering to sea spirits and deities. -hag stone; A stone with a naturally occurring hole looking through the will show you the hidden fey, offers protection from negativity and evil spirits. -a sea shell; Used to clear negative energy or in attraction spell craft. -a quartz crystal cluster; For balance, clarity and energy, great for energy amplification. -fluorite tower; A calming and soothing crystal that absorbs negative energy and stress. -frog charm- For luck, fortune and happiness. (Also just adorable) -eucalyptus branches; For protection, purifying and clearing away negative energy.

A bit late but the week of #moth for #daenidraws was a bit of a head scratcher. So I just made up a generic moth which is definitely #deadly 💀 and very likely poisonous. 🤢 Poisonous because eating would be bad, deadly because if it catches you eating it’s delicious chips (crisps) it will mess… you… up. PSA, Do not eat this moth or eat it’s chips/crisps.

We’ve made stories of them since the first humans could learn to tell weave tales. We glance up each #night in awe at the vastness which holds that which we still have so much to learn.

This week of #daenidraws the prompt has been #thedeepwoods In the deep woods death, life and rebirth are a constant cycle. A dance of growth and collapse with each life form supporting the next in line. Using only the #organic brushes from the #procreate set.

#daenidraws The prompt for this week is a #goodluckcharm #ladybugs are considered good luck charms on farms. A healthy ladybug population means that they are keeping the pests down. Aphids are one pest in particular that ladybugs love to eat.

Magic items can come in various forms #daenidraws this week is #magicitem . An enchanted ruby eyed skull! Maybe it tells you the lotto numbers or grants a wish! Was your wish the lotto numbers?! 😄

The prompt this week for #daenidraws is #Guardian . Nothing protects a sleeping babe like that of a watchful dog 🐕 Dost thou dare challenge the mighty canine? The smaller they are the more fearless. I personally think it’s Napoleon Complex but when I suggested this to my dog he bit off my arm. Ran off with it too!
