Preserving my life according to your word” NIV) Hiding secret sins from each other (James 5:16- “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” NLT) Listening to Music that glorifies sex, promiscuity, cheating, toxic relationships, etc. (Proverbs 18:21- Life and death are in the power of the Tongue”) It’s important to remember that everything you do whether good or bad sows a seed. A hidden sin unconfessed, a willful enjoyment of lustful videos or entertainment. We don’t abstain from these things simply to be “better” for God. We abstain because what God has for our eyes,ears and our heart is far better. When we lean into what he has instead of what the world offers we become more sensitive to the Holy Spirit and are able to test & approve what his will is for our lives.
