Gotta retry this one: Steven from @deepermovies approached me about doing version 2 of the music for the podcast a while back. @bryansenti helped me get some time with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra at their amazing studio in Prague. @krsnbrasko drove over from Berlin to take some pictures. Then I went back to LA and recorded the truly wonderful @maryoverthere playing harp, and we landed on the finished theme in the third slide, with animation by @eilidh_nicoll / @lazysusanfilms Deepest gratitude to Jozef and Daniel @finelinemusicservice for the incredible last minute score setup to bring this together, and the patience of the CNSO players with a composer who was maybe a little too excited to be on the podium xx

When an artist like Juan makes the dimensional jump, his music echoes indefinitely; the tail never narrows, the feedback is set to 100%. His music and his infectious laughter will make a happy racket in my heart for the rest of my days. We are impoverished as a community for having lost him as a friend and collaborator, while also being blessed to have known and loved him in his life. Returned to roots for a while. Happy 75th to my mother.

Today is the release of "Bitter Reflection" - a new single from @bodyoflightband that I was so lucky to get to produce last year, from their upcoming LP of the same name, to be released June 30th. Continuing my obsession with strat pickup position 2, fretless bass, watery pads, glassy bells, saxophone, thwacky drums, you know the vibe. Thanks to @daisrecords for the look on this, and to @joshbonati for the stately and careful mastering. The video for the title track, directed by @collindfletcher , is getting linked around and features the lightning rod of my generation, the irreplaceable @realjamesduval , and the upcoming @siyonfoster , who apparently can speak only using his eyes. Today I got to hang with the wonderful @zeitweitz and add “Adu” to my home. When I first saw this piece early last year, it hit me really hard. Erica does so much with so little, says so much without using words. I’ll love seeing this every day.
