That’s a wrap folks! I am proud to walk away from @missdcusa with the awards “Best in Interview”, “Best in Swim/Fitness”, and a first runner-up placement.
There is no testimony without a test. This chapter of my life will undoubtedly serve me in my eventual story of triumph. God always has a greater plan and until that next door of opportunity opens, I praise Him in the hallway. Life rarely happens the way that we predict and I have nothing but gratitude for how far I’ve come and where I’m going.
To my village, you know who you are. I can’t emphasize enough that none of this would be possible without you. From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows, you all have been there for me every step of my beautifully complicated journey and have transformed my life in ways that I can’t even begin to explain with a character limit on Instagram. I can’t thank you enough for playing your part and I love you all so big.
To my girl @torreskleo you did it! ❤️ All of your hard work has culminated to this moment and I can’t wait to watch you do your thing at Miss USA in a few weeks. Go get em girlfriend!

This past weekend, I finished 1st runner-up out of 96 phenomenal, highly driven women at the Miss Maryland USA pageant. As I explained in my final on-stage answer, pageantry has been instrumental in shaping me into the woman that stands in front of you all today. I am endlessly thankful for this ongoing journey.
Although I didn’t walk away with the crown, I still walked away a winner. I’ve gained invaluable skills that will undoubtedly fuse into other areas of my life. I’ve gained relationships. I’ve gained the ability to effectively articulate my beliefs and to use my voice to incite change. I’ve gained grace and poise. And most importantly, I’ve gained the ability to stand TALL in the woman that I am and to recognize that my uniqueness is not my weakness…I am and have always been enough.
Bailey, I am honored that I had the opportunity to witness you making history, bringing representation to so many different communities, with your win. Standing there embracing one another’s hands is a moment that I’ll never forget and I am excited to see the important work that you’ll do with your platform. You’re going to Miss USA and I can’t wait to cheer you on! ❤️
This is not rejection, it’s redirection. God always has a plan and I haven’t lost sight of that. I trust Him and I know that my best days lie ahead of me. As my best friend so eloquently reminded me before competition weekend, the true glory is in the process of becoming. Here’s to the beautiful unknown and to stepping stones of elevation. The work doesn’t stop here.
I’m still trying to get around to all of the messages and return all of the phone calls, but I can’t thank you all enough for all of your love and support. I would be remiss not to show some love to my village—without them, there is no me. I love each and every one of you with my entire heart. Thank you for seeing in me what for so long, I couldn’t see in myself. This is only the beginning. XOXO.

Just one week out from the start of #missmdusa pageant weekend. I feel totally at peace and confident about what I bring to the table. God prunes us when He is about to take us into a new season of growth and expansion and I trust His master plan. I’ve put in the hard work, now it’s time to have fun! I’m so immensely grateful for every stage of this process and for every person who has contributed—in any shape or form—to my journey. I love my tribe and hope to make you all proud.
