Bye bye, middle school! It’s been quite a ride! Rowan had a really tough go of it in 8th grade, missing over 27% of the school year due to illnesses, injuries, and follow up appointments, and even having to go part-time for the last couple of months. We’re really happy he was able to still go to the 8th grade boat dance, and that he was able to rally to attend a couple of full school days this final week. But boy are we glad to be on summer break, with more time to rest and recover. He still has many appointments ahead of him, but today we celebrate this milestone. Congratulations, Rowan! We love you!
The rug really tied the room together! We co-hosted a room party at Tiki Caliente with our friends the Colemans. I spent a looooooong time making 200+ servings of clarified milk punch, including blue spirulina to keep it natural (and healthy!), and then unceremoniously made it blue and put it in jugs to look like laundry detergent. Because themes matter! I’m really proud of that cocktail, and it was tons of fun to host a party in a parking spot, with Tom and Terry serving up the “Haitian High Tide,” Woody slinging popcorn, and Bryan Inman hosting a rum tasting by our sponsors. But seriously, any tips for optimizing our time and enjoyment would be super appreciated! It'll be 2 adults and 2 teenagers, midweek in mid/late February, one day in each park with Genie+, staying at a hotel about an 8 minute walk from the entrance. My kids' top priority is getting on "the Star Wars ride."
Took an overnight trip to Sacramento to see Woody’s aunt and grandma. Naturally, I forgot to take any pictures while we were with them! But here are pics of Declan driving us there so he could get more hours of driving practice, giant pancake breakfast, and indoor mini-golf. Only two days left of winter break now, but at least we finally got the boys to do this one little thing with us! 🥰
