SHOW AT THE NEPTUNE TODAY!!!!!! ABSENTEES TAKE THE STAGE AT SEVEN (7) PEE-M. This is Eddie Bläupunkt. He was born in Austria and was raised on a literal mountain. Knowing only how to communicate with the snow wolves, he was able to convince one of them to give him a ride to the bottom of the mountain to see the rest of the world at age seven. He attended a special elementary school in Austria for “Culturally Significant Children.” Why was Eddie culturally significant? Eddie wrote the massive hit song “Ich Kann Nicht Glauben, dass Sie Sich die Zeit Genommen Haben, dies zu Übersetzen” which was number one in 14 countries, including South Sudan, Tuvalu, Abkhazia, and Wales. At that elementary school he learned to deal with his newfound fame. Ultimately, it was too much for him and he quit music and decided to pursue work as a packing peanut designer. He worked in this job as a high schooler until he was 20, but the plandemic reinvigorated his spark for music. He decided to throw a dart at a map and move to Seattle. He learned English on the flight. After Benny Jacobsen “inadvertently” rammed his shopping cart into Eddie’s at a PCC Markets grocery store, they got to talking and realized they both had a common interest in 5G. The rest, as they say, is history, and the Absentees were born. We love you, Eddie! (Design by @simonewesterlund )

In the lead up Saturday’s (4/6) show at the Neptune, we thought it would be nice to introduce these new fans to each member every day. This is Benny Jacobsen (no relation to Colt). Born in Tampa, FL, it was clear from the moment he was born that he was going to be decent. He took an early interest in bicycle helmet manufacturing but gave it up after he forgot that he liked it. He went to a film prep school in Jacksonville during his teens to become a DVD Scene Selection Menu designer but was disgusted at the emergence of “Blu-Ray technology” corrupting the original glamour and prestige of the original DVD. He shifted his interest to education shortly after, and he is currently working to become a professor at a for-profit university. He has maybe played the guitar before. We love you, Benny! Favorite Song: Crazy Frog - Paranoid Android (Design by @simonewesterlund )

In the lead up Saturday’s (4/6) show at the Neptune, we thought it would be nice to introduce these new fans to each member every day. Meet Bella Soprano. Born in Italy to Greek parents, her parents gave her an Italian last name to fit in with her peers. It didn’t really end up mattering when she moved to the United States at age 11 after younger sister was found laundering money, so they moved to Texas where you’re allowed to do that. Bella became a chess phenom during this Texas era and placed 4th at the National Championships for the 12-18 age bracket. Once she was 16, Bella moved out to the Northwest and entered college early. She graduated from UW in 2020 and is finishing up her doctorate in Fruit Photography. She joined as a founding member of the Absentees in 2021 playing the flute but switched to bass because “it was a bigger instrument and I wasn’t getting any more jacked by carrying a flute.” We love you Bella! Also, this is the rarest NFT of the bunch, so if you happen to get lucky enough to pull this one, hang onto it! Favorite Song: OMI - Cheerleader (Design by @simonewesterlund )

After yesterday’s lauded live performance, the Absentees have been the recipient of thousands of new fans. In the lead up Saturday’s (4/6) show at the Neptune, we thought it would be nice to introduce these new fans to each member every day. First up we have Colt Jacobsen! Colt was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1999 and spent much of his childhood babysitting and as a car radio technician. He later heard the song “Riptide” in by Vance Joy in 2003 and he was moved to tears to the point where he wanted to take up the drums. After playing drums for years in small local bands The Rolling Stones and Coldplay, he started to make waves in the Kansas City music scene as an acclaimed drummer. The Absentees were seeking a new drummer after one of their members was asked to depart because of “character issues.” Colt’s great grandma (RIP) was a big fan of The Absentees’ early work and she told him to audition. They liked his hat (Dewalt tools hat) and gave him the job on the spot. He’s been with the band for the past 6 years! We love you Colt! Favorite song: Hoobastank - “The Reason” (Design by @simonewesterlund )
