In loving memory of our Nonno Pietro Carozza, a kind and warm-hearted soul who dedicated his life to serving his family. He grew up amidst the shadows of World War II and worked tirelessly to provide the best life possible for his family. In 1969, he embarked on a journey to New York from Palena, Italy with our Nonna and their three children, seeking a new beginning and paving the way for all of us.
He imparted invaluable life lessons to us, including a strong work ethic - my first job was doing construction work with him at the age of 11, for 50 bucks a day. He instilled the values of family care, especially during the last decade while our Nonna battles dementia, and he took it upon himself to master the art of cooking, finding passion in it.
His love for gardening was unparalled as he always made sure that we had fresh fruits and vegetables straight from his garden. And who could forget all the homemade wine and tomato sauce made in his Yonkers, NY backyard?
Rest in peace, Nonno. You will be deeply missed, and your legacy lives on in our hearts. 💚🤍❤️
