Did someone say… QUEEN OF THE NORTH? Canada’s Drag Race finale runway with Venus, photos by me ❄️ Where do I even begin to explain this one… When Venus and I were talking about the finale photoshoot, we knew we wanted something grand, but hadn’t nailed down a specific idea. We looked into photographing maybe inside some beautiful mansion/castle, but in my mind I was like “a beautiful gown in a fancy room… predictable.” We talked about the queen of the north concept and shooting in the snow in general (when there was not a single drop of snow in Vancouver and the weather had just been rainy). I reached out to the people at @blackcombhelicopters to orchestrate a truly iconic grand photoshoot and oh my goddd did they rise to the occasion. Everyone at Blackcomb Helicopters welcomed us with open arms and provided a flight for us and our team to the top of a glacier in Whistler so that we could shoot. It was THE most surreal experience I’ve ever had. We had been having a terrible winter, very warm with no snow and lots of rain, so we were not sure if the flight would happen, but the night before… 45cm/17inch of snow decided to coat the city and the mountains, and the day of the shoot was very bright and sunny 😭 There’s so much behind the scenes content of this ADVENTURE so I’ll be sharing a video of this day very soon 🥹 I have no words to thank everyone at Blackcomb Helicopter for this unforgettable experience, for being open to my pitch/ideas, and for guiding us with so much safety through (quite literally) uncharted territory! THE CLOWN WAS CROWNED - she is a winner baby! 👑🤡 I have so much to say (and looks to post still) but HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to @jimbothedragclown and a stellar season! Jimbo is the first ever international queen to win the american franchise and the pride of Canada 💕 You deserve it so much!
