From high school sweethearts to partners of purpose, Sean and I were always ambitious with big plans. He had this knack for business that blew my mind. By 18, he'd already sold two ventures! We just knew we could make waves together. But then life threw us a curveball. Less than a year into marriage, Sean got hit with Chiari Malformation. Brain surgery was the only option, so I put my career on hold to be there for him. It wasn't easy seeing my own dreams take a backseat, but my husband's health and well-being made every sacrifice worth it. I'll admit, surgery day had my nerves trembling. What if it changed him? Made him forget us? Thankfully, Sean remembered our love story and our plans to impact the world. Life didn't bounce back to being as easy as it was prior to surgery, but we persevered and continued to show up. Every day, we woke up and started our morning with intention, knowing that we were put on this earth to be more and do more for others. Through it all, we learned what really matters – family and education. Our home became a hub of learning and resilience. And now, as Mrs. Nevada International 2024, I'm on a mission to teach others how to persevere and have purpose in their day! I am cultivating leaders and expanding reading awareness. Hi, I'm Ali Everett, your Mrs. Nevada International 2024. I live in Las Vegas with my husband Sean and our two sons, I'm a proud wife, mother, and business owner. After Sean's health scare in 2013, we faced tough choices, but love, gratitude, and determination prevailed. Over 11 years later, Sean and I lead a real estate team - The Everett Group at Real Broker LLC. I'm also a Purpose-Driven Goal Coach, speaker, and literacy advocate. Through one on one and group coaching, I help people get specific on their goals. I share with them a powerful formula for achieving success that includes my 7 categories of life. I published "My Empire”, a daily accountability planner and gratitude journal. A tool that is dedicated to helping individuals, business owners, entrepreneurs, and students locate their goals in order to lead a life filled with purpose. I run an online academy and teach in person and virtual workshops. I homeschool my children and love watching them learn. Teaching them how to read at an early age was such a gift. Testing shows that 2/3 of U.S. children are unable to read with proficiency. In low-middle income countries, 57% of children can not read by the age of 10. Children who are not reading well by fourth grade are three times more likely to end up in the criminal justice system. Furthermore, 85% of youth offenders struggle to read. I feel literacy equals opportunity. If every person had a stronger opportunity to read, imagine how that would change our future. I have partnered with Better World Books, Spread the Word, and Little Free Library. My intention is to encourage community engagement, inspire readers, and expand book access for all. I build book-exchange boxes, collect used and new books to fill the boxes, and coordinate their placements across Nevada. Access to books should not be limited by time, space, or privilege. With this platform, I aim to ignite a profound shift, serving the world as an accountability partner to drive purposeful living and be a part of the solution to the global literacy crisis. On June 12, 2024, Brock Howard, Executive Director of Pulmonary for Infinity Medical Supply, made a significant contribution to the READ TO LEAD Initiative. By sponsoring a bundle of new books, Brock ensured that kindergartners at Mater Academy in Las Vegas, NV, would have the joy and privilege of owning their very own book. I'm filled with gratitude for all the wonderful people who helped make this vision a reality. This project took 4 months to complete! It started out as a regular kitchen cabinet but quickly transformed into something more! On June 29th, the Panaca Market welcomed their very own Little Free Library. Their dedication to expanding book access is honorable!! This is the 3rd LFL located in Lincoln County. Thanks to this location, we have expanded our reach. More than 3,000 people can benefit from our book-sharing boxes. Thank you, Jill Holmes, for donating your kitchen cabinet. This project became possible because of you. My platform & #MyWhy 📚 Read To Lead 🚀 Day 6 of #CountdownToTheCrown "Read to Lead" is all about expanding literacy to our youth, creating opportunities, and cultivating leaders. Biennial testing through the National Center for Education Statistics shows that two-thirds of U.S. children are unable to read with proficiency. Children who are not reading well by fourth grade are three times more likely to end up in the criminal justice system. Furthermore, children who do know how to read often don't understand why it is so important. I've asked many children in my travels, "Why do you need to read?" The common response: "Because I have to." Kids may read because they like a certain series or character, some are after a higher grade or accolade, and others seek validation from a teacher or caregiver. There is a gap that needs to be filled. I am here to help fill that gap by inspiring our youth to read while highlighting business leaders who have cracked the code for success. Accomplished business professionals read on average one book per month. 88% of high-net-worth individuals read for at least 30 minutes a day. Children should understand that reading is so much more than a good grade, an awesome series, or validation. We read so that we can develop our minds in order to be a functional member of society. The goal is to read so you can lead yourself. Gain independence and responsibility, and be able to make important decisions so you can financially and emotionally care for yourself as an adult. Reading allows you to get a driver’s license and achieve a higher education. It also gives you opportunities to master your skills in the workforce, get a raise, or start a business. There is no ceiling when it comes to reading. Read as much as you want and as often as you can. Reading is the gateway to success and a door that enters the world of endless possibilities. Our "Race for Reading" event was a huge success on June 22nd. Thank you Las Vegas Mini Grand Prix for supporting an important cause and being a part of the solution to the global literacy crisis. We raised over $340 dollars for the READ TO LEAD Initiative, we received more than 400 book donations for @spreadthewordnv , and showcased some of the best business leaders in Las Vegas.
