The Santa Fe Symphony Chorus has a season of beautiful music to perform in 2024–2025 and we need you and your fabulous voices. We Remember is presented in honor of Memorial Day to remember those who served, those we have lost, and to comfort their families. Everyone is invited. In Tuesday’s (5/14) KRQE (New Mexico), Audrey Claire Davis reports, “The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus is joining forces with the Santa Fe Youth Symphony Association to strengthen the music scene in The City Different. The organizations are able to come together through the support of the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce…. The Santa Fe Symphony provides jobs for over 100 orchestral and choral musicians every year. The Youth Symphony Association not only teaches classical music but also jazz and mariachi, catering to over 300 children, ages 7 to 20. The two organizations are coming together to create an even stronger music community for Santa Fe. ‘We really think that this merger is going to lead to a stronger, more vibrant organization that’s able to really focus on both of our missions and expand our reach in Santa Fe,’ says Symphony Executive Director Emma Scherer…. The organizations will develop a five-year strategic plan, founding three new youth choruses, and exploring new avenues for music education.” The Santa Fe Symphony’s site states, “SFYSA will become a part of the larger Santa Fe Symphony organization and retain its programs, staff, budget, and support….
