In a recent statement, President Biden shared his opposition for gender-affirming care for trans youth. Kierra Johnson shares, “We need the President to stay steadfast in his commitment to equity and justice. We all, regardless of political party, deserve an Administration that values our lives in words and deeds. Health and dignity shouldn’t be too much to ask. In fact, we demand it!” The National LGBTQ Task Force remains steadfast in our commitment to advocating for the rights of transgender and non-binary individuals. We will continue to fight against any policies or rhetoric that seek to marginalize or harm our community. 🟣 Stay tuned to #TheTaskForce for more updates!

On Thursday, June 27th, U.S. #Presidential Candidates Joe Biden and Donald Trump convened their first debate for the 2024 Presidential Election cycle. Executive Director of #TheTaskForce , Kierra Johnson shares, “For our community, it was extremely disappointing that not one specific question addressing the #LGBTQ community was asked. Given the level of attacks on LGBTQ people, particularly trans youth, it was an egregious omission.” 🟣 Stay tuned to #TheTaskForce for more updates!

On June 26, 2024, President Joe Biden issued a pardon to all #LGBTQ service members who were expelled from the military after disclosing their sexual orientation or gender identity. Executive Director of #TheTaskForce , Kierra Johnson shares “We are heartened to know that thousands of wrongly convicted military personnel will have their dignity and benefits restored. Every day many Americans find it harder to maintain their rights and freedoms simply because of their race, sexual orientation, or gender identity... Today’s pardon is a long overdue and celebrated step in the right direction and federal non-discrimination protections would extend immediate relief throughout all federal agencies.” 🟣 Stay tuned to #TheTaskForce for more updates!
