'Gina' . In my Fine Art series – back to basics this time ... When I started my Art photography I focussed on Fine Art with quite simple concepts. It was meant to let mostly the light and shadows speak for itself. and of course the beauty of my models. The pose, the props, the wearings also were very classic, old fashioned even. It's only later my concepts became much more difficult, using weird props, mud, bodypaint, focussing on dancers and gymnastics. But I still like my old style. Lucky me I knew this Aussie model, Gabrielle, who was visiting Europe in April. Of course she was accompanied by her mum. So it was more accidentally we took this picture you see in this post. While Gabrielle was changing her wearings, I did put this chair and asked her mum Gina to sit... I asked to take a quite stiff pose and forbidden to smile 😆  This picture of you is completely my old style Gina, it’s so beautiful! I love it. 'Pillars of the Earth' . In my ‘Clay-series’ – Previous clayshoots few years ago were most successful. Several pictures were published in Vogue. For this clayshoot I asked those two talented acro gymnasts, Noor and Zara to come to my studio. Concept was ‘cooperation‘. I prepared some poses they could do during the shoot, and asked the girls also to think about what this concept could result in moves, in actions, in positions between them. They did so well … I was amazed !!! What I hoped, but didn’t knew in advance, is the confidence they had in each other…. It was quite stunning. Girls had energy for 10 and made so much fun. We worked to reach perfection, every pose again. And of course only this could result in pictures like this one. Thank you Zara and Noor. All pictures I took from both of will be marvellous. In my Aerial series – for the story, ‘Az aranyhajú gyermekek’ (The Golden haired Children) is a Turkish fairy tale* : In a kingdom a woodcutter's three daughters work with sewing and stitching from morning till night, selling their work in the marketplace. One day, however, the padishah of the city bans lighting candles at night, for a period of three days and three nights. The sisters, trying to earn their living, continue their activities by candlelight and cover their house with a thick curtain. On the third night, the padishah passes by the house of the three sisters, who are talking among themselves: the eldest claims she can weave a large carpet for the padishah; the middle one claims can weave a large tent for the padishah, and the third sister claims to marry the padishah himself, for she promises to bear him twins with golden hair. The padishah brings the first two sisters to prove their extraordinary claims to him, fail, and are sent back to their poor house. The youngest sister marries him and gives birth to their wonder children with the astronomical birthmarks, whereunder golden hair. ... The Tale continues with parts of magic as in The Chronicles of Narnia.    Lucky me I knew this cute Australian aerialist Gabrielle , visiting Europe last month. Aerialists are quite spectacular to catch on photos, they fit so well in my research to capture the elegance of a swing or hanging pose. And today is Gabrielle’s Birthday. This golden outfit, combined with Gabrielle’s amazing hair, in this stunning pose, what a better way then posting this picture where she really becomes a girl with Golden hair. ‘Washed Ashore’ . Repost older very beautiful posts from years ago, which not many people did ever see as I had not as much followers by that time. This repost is from my ‘clay series’ – Creating an imaginary world … I do … many times … People who follow me a longer time, recognise I’m not always depicting a beautiful world. I can build sad, dark, sometimes emotional difficult pictures. But always in full respect of my model. Post-production of a picture like this one) may let it look far worse than the scene was in reality. Model and parents, on every moment, were present and did agree I took the photos as you see them here. In this picture, I tried to depict people, children, trying to flee the unhuman world they were living before … a black night, over a big black sea, a broken fisher net, a storm, … so sad … they didn’t make it. I know for sure some people may not like this photo … you don’t have to, and you can say you don’t like. Just take it as a Art, and don’t break it because you don’t like. Clay is a marvellous element to create … But to do this, I need a model willing to participate, not afraid of being full of dirt. And this is where I found Iona. "Poechenelle" . In my ‘Fantasy Fine Art’ – I’m a big fan of marionets , people who bring wooden puppets to life, that tell such amazing stories. If you ever travel to Europe, try to visit famous old marionet theatres in Italy, Czech republic or Belgium. In Brussels, you have this amazing little traditional Brussels’ puppet theater - 'Royal theatre Toone' (www toone.be). Really worth the visit. It inspired me. And it inspired also Finya who came especially from Germany. The shoot was somehow very strange to do, as Finya had to put herself into a fantasy figurine Willy Wonka. But she did so well … and she played so well this marionet. This is a style I never tried before. I hope you enjoy my version of Tim Burton's style. Finya, you were stunning. ‘₳₮Ⱡ₳₴’ . In my 'ballerino-Series' – Always like shooting dancers, I had so many dancers already passing in my studio, hip hop dancers,  ballerina’s, … all from the best Dance schools in Belgium and Europe. So elegant every time. But one common thing in mostly all my previous shoots: it were every time girls. I had one talented boy once, but this is already so long ago now. So when I had this question of Jason, a boy, far away from Holland, but following school in the prestigious ‘Royal Ballet School Antwerp’ I knew I wanted to do this. And so we agreed to do this shoot … and I decided to finally try with him a silver paint concept, but also a concept with a silver fabric floating. During our floating fabric, I already saw Jason had such a talent. Jason danced so amazingly, so beautifully, so elegantly, so emotional to watch also, even through my camera lens. I couldn’t have enough of watching him dance. Jason will become a great dancer, I’m sure of that. “ƙɧąƖɛɛʂı” In my Fine Art series – always love talented models visiting me in my studio. Aerialists also because their movements are quite spectacular to catch on photo, they fit so well in my research to the capture the elegancy of a movement 🤸 Lucky me I knew this so cute model from Australia, I did shoot more then a year ago on my trip to Australia. So double luck: Gabrielle was visiting Europe last month. Off course I had to ask her to do a shoot. And because she’s a Silk and hoop athlete, she really was enthusiast to show me what she could do. I’m most lucky that I can shoot the most wonderful and talented models like Gabrielle. But in between the aerial pictures, we made some Fine Art also, with the hair as an eye catcher. And an eyecatcher it was!!! Gabrielle’s magnificent hair, combined with the golden outfit made a princess of her: Daenerys, Queen of Dragons ... Khaleesy! ‘The Sleeping Beauty’ . In my ‘Oona-series’ – Oona … few years ago I met Oona for the first time. I don’t remember who asked who to come, but I knew from the first time, this little girl would become so good for my photography. So creative, so kind, so refreshing, not shy at all to go all through my sometimes difficult concepts i proposed her: flexible, Elves, Clay, bodypaint, ropes, red shoot, …. But not only that, creative as she is, she proposed me artistic concepts too we did together. We made so many shoots, all so good, all so successful, and even some published in Vogue. I had always such a pleasant memory on that shoot, so much fun we made 😊 So I think I can say: Oona was my muse for sure 🤍🖤🤍 Oona asked me one day something completely different: she loves horse-riding and jumping and she’d loved to have me do a shoot with her horse Monya. Of course I said yes 🔝 So, we did. … only thing: i did start to rain ten minutes after the start … so we went inside, and tried some artistic pictures with a led-light i brought with me … until the leak in the roof killed my LED … 😭 I must say, with the few pictures I could take, the result were marvelous to me 💎 I never thought I would shoot a model with a living animal, moreover, laying on that animal 😎 . 'le Vol' . Combining my ‘Gold series’ with 'Aerial' – Quite some time ago, experimenting with Gold, I asked Stephanie and Yannick to do a golden aerial shoot. Both my models performed so well, how they entangled and searched aesthetic positions together hanging on this aerial hoop !!! 🅃🄷🄸🅂 🄸🅂 🄽🅄🄳🄴 🄰🅁🅃 . ‘The destruction of Babel’ . In my ‘Fantasy Nude Art’ – I’m a big fan of Epic fantasy movies. Game of Thrones, is one of it. Critics have praised the series for its acting, complex characters ... its frequent use of nudity generated controversy. I wonder why. Artistic nudity, when used respectful, is so beautiful. Anyway, I loved the style of this series and this inspires me a lot. Speaking about artistic nudity , I had this amazing shoot with Marina. I don’t know why I didn’t continue working on this shoot as there are still a lot stunning raw’s waiting to be processed. Maybe because I was too sad. Looking at this raw I first didn’t know what to do with it. But suddenly I knew. I wanted Marina, strong as she was, to become epic. I saw a God, being furious, destructing Babel. It took two hours to finish the painting on Marina. It took me two hours yesterday to add Babel in photoshop. Not any AI was used to build this picture. And Marina really became a piece of Art. It felt well to do this shoot, not being shy, not prudish, respectful in every way. The lightning was perfect. the painting, the movements you made, the atmosphere ... all was perfect. Emotional also ... I wished we could have seen each other again for another shoot as we agreed ... but it could not be: Marina, due to cancer, passed away, leaving two very young daughters behind.
